Porter dropped back-to-back 3-pointers to push the USA lead to 16, 32-16 with 7:20 to play in period two, but China battled back.

Murrell Named Vikings' New Women's Basketball Coach

Murrell replaces Charity Elliott, who resigned after three seasons to take the head coaching position at UC San Diego.

Rodriguez, now an 11-time American League All-Star who has been fan-elected 10 times, finished as baseball's overall balloting leader with 3,890,515 votes.

Former Oregon State Catcher to Begin Pro Career with Ems

Mitch Canham is expected to report to the Emeralds by July 5th.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - eugene baseball logoThe San Diego Padres have announced that the club has agreed to terms with former Oregon State catcher Mitch Canham, the team's third pick in the compensation round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft.

Canham, the 57th overall pick in the draft out of Oregon State University, batted .326 (74-for-227) with 13 doubles, a triple, 10 home runs, 59 RBI and 52 runs scored in 65 games for the College World Series Champion Beavers in 2007.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - LaVonda Wagner photoOregon State University’s women’s basketball head coach LaVonda Wagner has been awarded a one-year contract extension through the 2012 season, OSU Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis announced Friday.

Wagner is heading into her third year at the helm of the program.

Her 2006 team advanced to the WNIT, making the fifth-biggest improvement in the nation from the previous year with 16 wins.

Durham, one of the founding fathers of Linfield athletics, died Friday in Honolulu, Hawaii, at age 93.
