Few, if any, of the competitors at this week’s 2007 U.S. Open would say it was a trip to heaven. But late Sunday afternoon, the venerable western Pennsylvania venue, which had befuddled and exasperated the world’s best golfer, was touched by an Angel.

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Rookie Lewis Hamilton continued his improbable climb to the top of Formula One with a record-setting victory June 17 in the United States Grand Prix the at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Hamilton, age 22 years, 161 days old, became the first rookie to win the USGP at Indianapolis and the second-youngest driver to win a major event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Only Troy Ruttman, who won the 1952 Indianapolis 500 at age 22 years, 80 days old, was younger when he took the checkered flag at IMS. Read Full Article

(OMAHA, Neb.) - Oregon State’s baseball team spent Sunday getting in a brief practice, being feted and feasted by their College World Series hosts, and enjoying some free time with family on Fathers Day.
Oregon State plays fellow Pac-10 member Arizona State on Monday at 6 p.m. in the winners’ bracket game of their pool. The Sun Devils have taken three of the four meetings between the teams this season.
On Sunday, OSU went through a quick late-morning workout at Bellevue East High School.

(BROOKLYN, Mich.) - When you come to play in Jack Roush's backyard you better bring all your best toys because the longtime owner put another car in Gatorade Victory Lane at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday in the Citizens Bank 400.
Remember that Roush is from nearby Livonia, Mich. and has now won a total of 15 NASCAR races at MIS, including nine NEXTEL Cup races and three races each in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and Busch Series.
Increase those totals by one following Carl Edwards’ victory on Sunday, marking his first triumph in 52 races and only the second Ford triumph this season in NEXTEL Cup competition. Read Full Article

When Busch jiggled one too many times Kvapil jumped with the white flag, signifying one lap remaining, about to fly. Busch had the lead going into Turn Three. Kvapil seized it coming out of Turn Four.
The chase was over. The race was won, Kvapil's patience enduring for his second victory at Michigan International Speedway in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Michigan 200. Read Full Article

Bruce has announced the signing of transfer Shayla Corder (The Master’s College/Roseburg HS) and Danielle Bellando of Willamette High School in Eugene.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - For the second consecutive year, Oregon State University offensive guard Jeremy Perry has been selected to the Outland Trophy Watch List, the Football Writers Association has announced.
The award recognizes the top interior lineman in college football.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - A limited number of football season tickets for the University of Oregon’s 2007 home schedule will go on sale to the general public beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, according to the athletics department’s Director of Ticket Sales, Garrett Klassy.
Klassy emphasized that only single seats remain and that no two seats were available side-by-side.
Oregon has set records for season ticket sales each of the last nine years and currently has accumulated a string of 48 consecutive sellouts. Read Full Article
