(INDIANAPOLIS) - In 2002, Dario Franchitti contended the Indianapolis 500 was an interruption of his CART schedule.
It was the Scotsman's first foray to the historic 2.5-mile ribbon of asphalt with then-Team Green, and "I just didn't get it."

(LOS ANGELES) - Oregon State was beaten by UCLA 5-2 in Pac-10 baseball Sunday afternoon at Jackie Robinson Stadium to finish the regular season.
Mike Lissman homered for 23rd-ranked OSU (38-17 overall, 10-15 Pac-10), which had won the weekend series against the Bruins (30-26, 14-10) by winning 10-7 on Friday and 13-5 on Saturday.
On Sunday, Bruin lefthander Gavin Brooks tossed a three-hitter at the Beavers, who had amassed 25 hits in the first two games of the series. Read Full Article

(MONMOUTH, Ore. ) - Western Oregon softball coach Pam Knox has announced the signing of The Dalles-Wahtonka High School standout Jessica Wood to a National Letter of Intent.
Wood, the Intermountain Conference Pitcher and Player of the Year, will compete for a spot in the pitching rotation next spring.
Wood has been dominant for an Eagle-Indians squad that is currently 25-2.

(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) - Western Oregon sophomore Zeb Udell placed fifth in the pole vault at the NCAA Division II national championships Saturday, earning All-America honors and tying the Wolves school record at the same time.
Udell cleared the bar at 16-2 3/4, tying the 1993 WOU school record held by Greg Hess.
The event at the Irwin Belk Complex in Charlotte, North Carolina was won by Bryant Wilson of Grand Valley State.
