Linfield, the second-ranked team in Division III, knocked off two Top 10 teams on the same day, surprising No. 8 Mississippi College 4-3 in nine innings, then knocking off No. 4 Louisiana College 8-6 in dramatic fashion in an amazing game that was delayed first by lightning, then by fireworks. (SAN ANTONIO) - In a physical, sometimes nasty Game 3 in San Antonio, it was Tim Duncan that showed what has made him an elite NBA player for a decade.
Duncan had 18 points and 10 rebounds by halftime and ended the game with 33, 19 and three blocked shots in a hard-fought 108-101 win that gave the Spurs a 2-1 series lead over the visiting Suns.

After being outrebounded by 14 and 17 in Games 1 and 2, respectively, New Jersey hit the boards hard, collecting 43 caroms to the Cavs' 30 in a 96-85 Game 3 win on Saturday that cut its series deficit to 2-1.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State’s Jordan Lennerton delivered a bases-loaded double and a triple as the 11th-ranked Beavers beat Washington State 11-5 in Pac-10 baseball Saturday afternoon at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
OSU (36-12 overall, 8-9 Pac-10) also got a three-run home run from Mike Lissman during a five-run seventh inning.
On Saturday, Lennerton’s bases-loaded double in the bottom of the fourth inning broke a 1-1 tie and gave the Beavers the lead for good. Read Full Article

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Sophomore Theresa Bowns blasted home the game-winner in the 75th minute as Oregon overcame an early mistake to defeat the Seattle Sounders 2-1 in the soccer team’s spring exhibition finale Saturday at Pape’ Field.
Just :37 into the contest, Seattle’s Erica Swanson crossed the ball in on the Oregon net and goalkeeper Nicole Garbin misplayed the pass, deflecting the ball through her legs and into the Ducks’ goal for a 1-0 Sounders lead.
Seattle pushed the action in the opening period when it outshot Oregon 9-2, but neither team registered a goal.

(PARK CITY, Utah) - Former Olympic medalist and World Cup champion Bode Miller has decided not to join the 2008 U.S. Alpine Ski Team, it was announced Saturday.
Miller, who has been a member of the U.S. Ski Team for 11 seasons and came up through the USSA pipeline, will train and travel independently next winter if he races on the World Cup tour, Alpine Director Jesse Hunt said.

Winners of three straight overall, the Beavers won 10 Pac-10 games for the third straight year – a first in program history.
Oregon State (39-21; 10-11 Pac-10) took the season series from Stanford (33-19-1; 7-13-1 Pac-10) for just the third time in program history and for the first time since 1999.

(PINEVILLE, La.) - Meredith Brunette drilled a game-winning RBI single through the infield, lifting the Linfield Wildcats to a 4-3 nine-inning victory over Mississippi College Saturday at the NCAA Division III West Regionals.
The Wildcats equaled a school record with their 37th win of the season and play a second elimination game against Louisiana College.
