Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Va. (McMINNVILLE, Ore. ) - The Linfield Wildcats will travel to Louisiana this week to compete in the NCAA Division III playoffs.
Linfield, 35-5 this season and champion of the Northwest Conference, departs Tuesday for Pineville, La., to compete in the seven-team NCAA Division III regional tournament, hosted by Louisiana College.
The second-seeded Wildcats meet seventh-seeded Hardin-Simmons (29-14) in Thursday’s opening round. Read Full Article

Salem-News.com Sports (May 07, 2007 17:26)Oregon Receives Bid to NCAA Men’s Golf West Regional Salem-News.com SPORTSOverall, this is Oregon’s 13th bid to the NCAA West Regional, and first since 2005. (EUGENE) - The Oregon men’s golf team learned Monday that it will continue playing into the 2007 postseason.
The Ducks received the No. 20 seed to the NCAA West Regional, which will be contested May 17th-19th at Arizona State’s Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz.
The course in Tempe is the same one where the Ducks won the Thunderbird Invitational last month, defeating the likes of USC, Arizona State, Nevada-Las Vegas, Arizona and New Mexico.

(EUGENE) - The Oregon women’s soccer team has added two players to its spring recruiting class, including goalkeeper Tori Johnson from Corvallis, Ore., head coach Tara Erickson announced on Monday.
Johnson was a four-year starter in goal for Corvallis High School and was an all-state first team selection as a senior when she led the Spartans to the OSAA quarterfinals.
She also earned Mid-Willamette Conference player of the year accolades as a senior.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State pitcher Jorge Reyes allowed one earned run in seven-plus innings as the ninth-ranked Beavers beat Washington 8-2 in Pac-10 baseball Sunday afternoon at Husky Ballpark.
Jason Ogata was 3-for-5 with four runs batted in, and his three-run double keyed a six-run fourth inning for OSU (35-11 overall, 7-8 Pac-10).
On Sunday, the Beavers needed a win to avoid being swept by Washington (23-21, 8-7) and Reyes helped them get it.

(PORTLAND) - Following a double header sweep on Friday, Corban's baseball team knew that another sweep on Sunday would award the Warriors a berth in the NAIA Region I playoffs, but the 2007 season ended with back-to-back losses to rival Concordia, 6-5 & 2-1, at The Yard.
Before Sunday's twin bill in the Rose City, both Corban and Concordia were separated by two games in the regional standings for the fourth and final playoff spot.
In the opener, Corban grabbed a quick 3-0 lead in the first when junior Jamie McGraw led off the game with a single up the middle before sophomore Craig Spicer brought him home with a double down the left field line.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Beaver seniors Ta’Tyana McElroy, Mia Longfellow, Natalie Johnson, Sherina Galvan, and Brianne McGowan played their final game at the OSU Softball Complex on Sunday and dropped a 2-0 decision to defending national champion University of Arizona.
A crowd of 818 was on-hand to wish the five Oregon State seniors a fond farewell.

(EUGENE) - Oregon’s 2007 senior class went out in style, with a little help from the freshmen, as 18th-ranked Oregon knocked off ninth-ranked Arizona State, 6-5, on Sunday afternoon at Howe Field.
The game was the Ducks last regular season contest of 2007 at Howe Field. Oregon travels to the Bay Area to wrap up its regular season schedule at Cal and Stanford next week.
It was only fitting that senior Suzie Barnes, who last night was voted by her teammates as this year’s most inspirational player, was the catalyst in both innings that put runs on the board for the Ducks. Read Full Article

(NEW YORK) - The New York Yankees announced Sunday that they have signed seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens to a Minor-League contract.
The 44-year old Clemens made 19 starts with the Houston Astros in 2006, posting a 7-6 record with a 2.30 ERA and 102 strikeouts (113.1IP, 89H, 34R, 29ER, 29BB).
