(EUGENE) - Carolyn Ganes scored 13 points as Oregon defeated UC Santa Barbara 70-54 in the second round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament on Saturday night.
Tamika Nurse had 11 points for the Ducks (17-13), who shot 50 percent from the field.
Taylor Lilley, Eleanor Haring and Jamie Hawkins added 10 points apiece for Oregon, which advances to the third round against the winner of Sunday's game between Missouri and Wyoming in Cheyenne, Wyo.

(WALLA WALLA, WASH.) - Senior shortstop Matt Rasmussen went 4 for4 with two doubles and the Bearcats scored two runs in each of the final two innings, as Willamette University defeated Whitman College, 6-2, in a Northwest Conference game on Sunday.
Willamette, which took two of three games from the Missionaries, improved to 8-10 overall, 2-6 in the NWC.
The Bearcats have won five of their last six games. Whitman dropped to 1-14 on the season, 1-8 in the NWC.

(COLUMBUS, Ohio ) - The team that no one wants to play is still playing - thanks to its suffocating defense.
Southern Illinois got three big 3-pointers from Jamaal Tatum and pulled away from Virginia Tech 63-48 Sunday in a West Regional second-round game.
Tatum, the Missouri Valley Conference player of the year, scored 21 points. The Salukis have won 15 of 16, and set a school record for victories in a season.

Kruger connected on three straight 3-pointers late in the second half Sunday and the Runnin' Rebels rallied to beat second-seeded Wisconsin 74-68 in the second round of the Midwest Regional.
The Badgers (30-6) became the highest-seeded team to lose in the tournament.

(NEW ORLEANS) - Junior center Al Horford and junior forward Corey Brewer each scored 17 points and the University of Florida men’s basketball team defeated Purdue, 74-67, on Sunday in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
The ninth-seeded Boilermakers kept the game close most of the way, but the top-seeded Gators made several clutch shots down the stretch to advance to the round of 16.
Horford had three buckets in the final minutes, and Brewer hit a spinning jumper and then made six-consecutive free throws to seal Florida's 14th-consecutive postseason win.

Fifth-seeded Tennessee (24-10) reached the round of 16 for the first time since 2000 under second-year coach Bruce Pearl, who painted himself orange before a Lady Vols' game last month to show his spirit.
