Malibu Locals, Paparazzi, and the Matthew McConaughey Incident (VIDEO)

Did loud mouthed local surfers in Malibu crowd the Civil Rights of 'Paps' or Paparazzi?

(MALIBU) - Malibu beachgoer throws sand in the face of a visiting paparazzi After watching the video closely, I'm fairly convinced that the so-called local surfers in Malibu who attacked a Paparazzi crew last June, are a creepy expression of an American mindset that thinks it can randomly activate the "fascist" button and pretend like they live above the Civil Rights of others.

The Paparazzi are a component of American society driven by a mindless occupation with the private lives of celebrities. It isn't always pretty but it is generally legal.

Salem Police Arrest Man in Coffee Shop Armed Robbery (VIDEO)

(SALEM, Ore.) - police lights Salem Police were called to the scene of an armed robbery Thursday night at Coffee in Motion, on Mission in South Salem. Dennis Keena with Salem Police, says a number of officers responded. "The person involved had a handgun and demanded cash from the clerk."

It took about an hour and a half for police to locate the suspect, Keena said, with the help of a police dog. "We set up a perimeter and used a canine to track the suspect to a house here on Rural."

Salem Man Seriously Injured in Explosion (UPDATE + VIDEO)

A neighbor says the man has a history of causing explosions inside his house.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Scene of explosion in Salem, Oregon 6-17-09 The Salem Police Department Hazardous Device Team or 'Bomb Squad' was called out Wednesday after an explosion severely injured a Salem man.

Salem Police and Fire were called to 1095 Norway St NE just before 7:00 p.m. last night after 42-year old Patrick Hibler, apparently attempting to manufacture some type of explosive material in the residence, caused a detonation which seriously injured him in several parts of his body.

Coast Guard Rescues Two Brothers and a Dog from 300-foot Ravine (VIDEO)

The brothers were located and a rescue swimmer was lowered into the ravine and located the brothers and their dog.

(ASTORIA, Ore.) - Salem-News.com The Coast Guard rescued two brothers, six-years-old and seven-years-old, from a 300-foot ravine at Cape Kiwanda, near Pacific City, Oregon Tuesday.

Coast Guard officials say the mother of the boys called 911 at approximately 12:45 p.m., after the brothers had ventured down to the bottom of the ravine and were unable to find their way back up.

Palestinians Say Israeli Soldiers Slaughtered Helpless Animals In Gaza Zoo

The world has remained cool over the 1,400 Christian and Muslim men, women and children killed by Israel during its recent invasion of Gaza—but will they care about the innocent caged animals slaughtered by Israeli soldiers at the little zoo in Gaza?

(GAZA CITY) - Entrance to the Gaza Zoo Video makes for hard evidence. That is a fact, and police and military groups that overstep the boundaries of decency are increasingly debuting on the worldwide screen through venues like YouTube, much to the chagrin of those who used to get away with much, much more.

The charges this time are against the Israel Defense Force and regard caged animals at the Gaza Zoo. Reporters with American Free Press say the acts were needless.

Iran Announces Landslide Win for Ahmadinejad (VIDEO)

"IT'S A GREAT VICTORY": Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was re-elected for a second term securing 62.6 percent of the vote in Friday's election. (EPA)

(TEHRAN Arab News) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was declared winner yesterday by a landslide in Iran's presidential vote, triggering riots by opposition supporters and furious complaints of cheating from his defeated rivals.

Ahmadinejad went on television to declare the election a "great victory," even as baton-wielding police clashed with protesters in the streets of the capital in unrest not seen for a decade.

In the heart of Tehran, thousands of Mousavi supporters voiced their disbelief and frustration at the results, with some throwing stones at police who struck back with batons.

Salem Structure Fire Serves as a Summer Safety Reminder (VIDEO)

There were no injuries at this fire. It took about twenty minutes for crews to bring it under control.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Structure fire in Salem, Oregon 6-9-09 Firefighters in Salem, Oregon were busy Monday afternoon fighting a structure fire that broke out in a shed on Niles Street before spreading to an adjacent structure.

Our news photographer Jerry Freeman was actually on scene before firefighters arrived. This is not something that happens every day in a city that has a Class A fire department which Salem does.
