An event encouraging support for the humane treatment of U.S. immigrants will be held in Salem Friday November 16th at 11:00 AM. It takes place at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church 1010 Columbia Street NE at Portland Road in Salem, Oregon.

Driver Dies in Crash on Highway 26 Near Wheeler

The pickup rolled several times, ejecting the operator, 43-year old Allen Anton Sexton of Brookings, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

(WHEELER, Ore.) - Police say a driver died Friday evening after being ejected from his pickup that rolled off Highway 26 east of Mitchell in Wheeler County. He has been identified as 43-year old Allen Anton Sexton of Brookings.

Saturday at approximately 6:00 PM, Mr. Sexton was driving his 1997 Ford pickup westbound on Highway 26 near milepost 85 when it lost control negotiating a curve and left the north side of the highway.

Local Oregon Landowners Will Suffer Under Measure 49

It is sleight of hand in the most base political sense.

(KEIZER, Ore.) - A house that has been raising a lot of attention in Keizer over a legal medical marijuana grow located close to a high school, is back in the news again.

Police say it started with a 911 call on Wednesday afternoon over suspected pipe bombs.

Firefighters Rescue Horse That Fell Through Bridge

(CANBY, Ore.) - Conditions allowed Canby and Clackamas firefighters to rescue a 26-year old appaloosa horse that had fallen partly through a bridge that spanned a creek. Troy Buzalsky, Division Chief with Canby Fire, says it was a tough rescue, but the firefighters had enough "horsepower" to safely lift the animal from its precarious spot.

Upon arrival firefighters found a 1000-pound Appaloosa Horse, named Silky, whose hind legs had broken through the wooden deck boards of a bridge and were dangling just inches above the Gribble Creek.

Christopher K. Winter‏ Pleads Guilty to Murder

At the time of this murder, the deceased John David Hall and the suspect Christopher Winter were business partners, conducting business as Bulls Eye Pest Elimination; an insect exterminator service.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - On November 15th, 2005, John David Hall, 55 at the time, was found dead police say, as a result of homicidal violence. His body was discovered inside his residence at 8951 SE Beaver Lake Drive, in Clackamas.

Thursday at 1:30 PM, Christopher Keller Winter entered a plea of guilty to Murder and Theft One, in the Clackamas County Circuit Court, Oregon City.

Martinez Resigns RNC Post After Ten Months

Mel Martinez is a Cuban American, and the former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President George W. Bush. Born in Cuba, he arrived in the U.S. at age 15.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - U.S. Senator Mel Martinez, a Republican from Florida, has announced that he is leaving the Republican National Committee general chairman post. President George Bush said in a statement that Martinez served with distinction.

President Bush says Martinez was a key player in making sure that the party has, "the structure and resources in place for all Republican candidates in the 2008 elections to be successful."
