Oregon State Fraternity Member Arrested in Shooting Incident

Investigation of this case is continuing and the findings are being reviewed by the Benton County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

(CORVALLIS) - Corvallis police, along with Oregon State Police, and Benton County Sheriff Deputies served a search warrant at 331 NW 26th Street, the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity house in Corvallis.

The search warrant allowed officers to seize evidence connected to the shooting of Dennis Sanderson in the alley east of the fraternity, which occurred on October 14th.

During the subsequent search, officers seized a firearm believed to have been used in the shooting.

Be Aware! I-5 Traffic Slow North of Salem

Delays have been around 20 minutes.

(SALEM) - A semi truck loaded with whipping cream that overturned just north of the Portland Road exit on I-5 is still slowing traffic in both directions.

The accident occurred just after 6:00 AM this morning when the truck traveling northbound on I-5 overturned and landed in the median blocking northbound and southbound lanes.

Traffic is able to get by in single lanes on each side of the highway.

Oregon Department of Transportation crews are cleaning up diesel and the some of the contents that spilled from the trailer.

ODOT does not have an estimated time for when the highway will be completely open.

It may take several hours to clean up the accident and remove the truck

Oregon Could See A Rise In Holiday Hiring

From September through December, Oregon could add as many as 12,000 jobs in seasonal holiday hiring, a 4.4 percent increase from 2005.

(SALEM) - Oregon has enjoyed a steady and strong economy in 2006, and that should continue through the holiday hiring season, according to economists from the WorkSource Oregon Employment Department.

Salem Man Injured After Crashing Stolen Car

The suspect was transported to OHSU by Life Flight helicopter where he will be treated for severe trauma injuries

(BROOKS) - Just before 7:30 AM Monday, Marion County Deputies responded to a report of a one vehicle rollover crash in the 4800 block of Brooklake Rd NE in Brooks.

When they arrived, Deputies discovered that the car, a blue 1988 Honda Accord, had been reported stolen on Thursday, November 16th from Rockwood Park Apartments in northeast Salem.

It appeared the driver lost control of the car, veered across the oncoming lane and onto the shoulder where the car was sent sideways and rolled at least one time.

Front Street Closed in Salem Nov. 28-30

(SALEM) - Front Street NE will be closed to all traffic between D Street NE and Market Street NE from 6:00 AM Tuesday, November 28th until 6:00 PM Thursday, November 30th.

Completion time is weather dependant. This closure will be 24/7 throughout this project and is for replacement of the rail road tracks. Traffic will be detoured via Commercial Street NE. Use alternate route to avoid delays.

(SALEM) - The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning that calls for falling snow levels through Thanksgiving. ODOT and Oregon State Police advise drivers to leave plenty of time for traveling and carry chains or traction tires.

The heaviest snowfall is expected Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Stockton.

“We expect snow levels to lower steadily through Thanksgiving,” said Jay Stockton, meteorologist for the National Weather Service’s Medford office. “Travelers will likely encounter snow in the Cacades and Siskiyou mountain passes starting Tuesday night and continuing through Thanksgiving.”

In Afghanistan however, many say driving trucks and military vehicles in convoys is the most hazardous duty, with IED's and other enemy traps consistently injuring and killing U.S. soldiers.

“They’re planning to target DOD convoys. So keep your eyes peeled for IED’s. You need to look for vehicles with one person in them, who’s clean-shaven, driving erratically, and the vehicles off center, off balance,” was advice given before the drive ensued.

(SALEM) - At 9:08 AM Monday, November 20th, the Salem Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a house at 1929 Nut Tree Dr. NW.

Arriving firefighters reported that a car had crashed into the front of the home's garage, smashing into the clothes washer and dryer. The impact thrust the clothes washer and dryer through the wall and into the dining room of the home.
