Arizona Issues Warrant For Couple Who Were Snowbound

(ASHLAND AP) - Arizona authorities have issued a warrant on drug-related charges for a couple who were among a family of six rescued from a snowbound motor home this week.

This is according to court documents and a newspaper report.

Warrants were issued for Elbert and Becky Higginbotham on Wednesday, the day after they were rescued.

(MONMOUTH) - Contract talks between Western Oregon administrators and faculty broke down on Friday, meaning the union set strike date of April 5th appears to soon become a reality.

WOU President John Minahan said the university has made every effort to bring the last bit of additional money it could find to this table. Apparently, it was not enough. The union is holding to its most recent verbal offer of 12 percent. We cannot increase our offer. Our final offer remains at 9.7 percent including full fringes and all benefits. (SILVERTON) - Oregon`s economy would be better protected by public investments in education and infrastructure than by inserting a Colorado-style TABOR spending cap in Oregon`s constitution, based on the findings of two studies released yesterday.

`TABOR fails to accomplish what its proponents claim,` said Michael Leachman, a policy analyst at the Oregon Center for Public Policy who reviewed the reports. `TABOR does not produce economic growth. Colorado`s experience teaches us that TABOR is a poison, not a panacea.`

The lunches will be provided daily from noon to 12:30 PM.

Lebanon Woman Arrested for Animal Neglect

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller reports that a Lebanon woman has been arrested for multiple counts of animal neglect.

(ALBANY) - A Lebanon woman faces 19 counts of animal neglect stemming from an investigation on her property at 39627 Mount Hope Road in Lebanon.

46-year old Cheryl Ann Hainz-Justice was arrested and taken to the Linn County Jail for 19 counts of Animal Neglect I.

Hainz-Justice was arrested by deputies who began their investigation after a report was turned into the Sheriff's Office on January 27th...

Police Take Kids Into Protective Custody, Parents Arrested, Home Posted as a Public Health Hazar

Police took into protective custody an 8-year-old boy, and two 6-year-olds girls from the home

(SALEM) - Officers from Salem Police Department's Drug Activity Response Team, responded to a complaint at 745 21st St. SE.

Upon arrival, officers found that the house was filthy and unsuitable for the children.

Salem Police spokesman Lt. Steve Bellshaw says amphetamine residue and paraphernalia were located inside the home, and were in areas accessible to the children.

The gas to heat the house had been off for several weeks.

70 Oregon Guard Citizen Soldiers to Demobilize on Saturday

Spc. Jaynie Cole will be awarded a Purple Heart during the Demobilization Ceremony.

(CLACKAMAS) - More than 70 Oregon Army National Guard citizen-soldiers of the 3670th Maintenance Company will be demobilized after serving 12 months in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The official Demobilization Ceremony, signifying the completion of their tour of duty, will take place at the Camp Withycombe Armory, 10101 NE Clackamas Rd., in Clackamas on Saturday at noon.

Attending the ceremony to welcome these soldiers home will be, Governor Kulongoski, Congresswoman Darlene Hooley, and Adjutant General, Major General Raymond Rees.
