(CHICAGO) - One of the clubhouse attendants in Wrigley Field approached Tom Glavine on Sunday as a special evening was winding down and extended a hand with two baseballs.
For the first times ever, he wrote 300 under his name. And, oh, how he liked the way that looked.
A comprehensive, Glavine-esque six-plus innings against the Cubs not only affected the change in ID, but also was the primary fuel in the Mets' less historic, less-than-artistic, 8-3 victory.

You know the one. The man with the steely eyes, synchronized swing and silky putting stroke who can seize control of a golf tournament and make the rest of the field feel like they're back-up singers trying to drown out the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

(BROOKLYN, Mich.) - There will be five cars between points leader Dario Franchitti's pole-winning No. 27 Canadian Club entry and that of his closest pursuer, Scott Dixon, at the start of the Firestone Indy 400.
That's comforting in one respect. But Franchitti won't have any Andretti Green Racing teammates as wingmen at the start of the 200-lap speedfest at Michigan International Speedway, and his highest finish at the track is eighth. Still, season-long consistency has Franchitti confident in the Honda-powered Dallara.
