(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) -  Oregon State University senior wide receiver/punt returner Sammie Stroughter and junior offensive guard Jeremy Perry have been named to the CBS Sportsline Second Team All-American squads.
Stroughter is coming off a 2006 season that featured him earning Associated Press Third Team All-American honors.
Perry is a member of the preseason "watch lists" for the Outland and Lombardi Awards.

The Viking uniforms lean heavily toward Glanville's favored black color scheme, while the helmets will have the new spear logo running over the crown.

Upton, just two weeks ago. (NEW YORK) -  New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano and Tampa Bay Devil Rays outfielder Carl Crawford have been named American League Co-Players of the Week for the period ending August 5th.
Crawford hit .591 (13-22) with a double, three home runs and six RBI.

(NEW YORK) -  Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Brandon Webb, who went 2-0 and threw a complete game shutout, and Washington Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman, who hit .519 (14-27), have been named the National League Co-Players of the Week for the period of July 30th-August 5th.
Zimmerman led the N.L. with 14 hits and 24 total bases, helping lead Washington to a 6-0 week.
Webb led the N.L. with two wins and recorded a 0.00 ERA over 16 innings pitched.

Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not announced.

The Wolves return 18 starters from a 2006 squad that went 6-4.

(SALEM, Ore. ) -  Youth age 9-13 can now hunt in Oregon under the close supervision of an adult without first passing a hunter education class.
"Oregon's hunters now have a fantastic opportunity to introduce kids to hunting," said Marla Rae, Commission Chair.
The program does not remove the hunter education requirement; it defers it.
