(PHOENIX) - phoenix suns logoIn Game 2 of their first-round series with the Lakers on Tuesday, the Suns continued what they started in the fourth quarter of Game 1.

Phoenix sizzled from the start, leading by as many as 32 points and cruising to a 126-98 win over L.A. and a 2-0 series lead.

Leandro Barbosa scored 26 points, Amare Stoudemire had 20 points and nine rebounds.

NBA Playoffs: Bulls Take Commanding 2-0 Lead on Heat

Dwyane Wade had 21 points and seven assists for Miami.

(CHICAGO) - chicago bulls logoBen Gordon and Luol Deng got hot in the second half, and the Bulls took control of their first-round series with the defending champions.

Gordon scored 11 in the third quarter as Chicago outscored Miami by the same margin, and Deng went for 14 in the fourth to ice a 107-89 victory in Game 2 on Tuesday.

Gordon finished with 27 points on 11-for-19 shooting, including 5-of-8 from 3-point range, and added seven rebounds and five assists.

No. 9 Oregon State Routs Portland, 10-1

Daniel Turpen picked up the win, improving his record to 7-1 this season.

(PORTLAND) - Jordan Lennerton photoJordan Lennerton doubled home three runs during Oregon State’s eight-run seventh inning as the ninth-ranked Beavers beat Portland 10-1 in non-conference baseball Tuesday afternoon at Joe Etzel Field.

Jason Ogata was 3-for-5 with a double and drove in three runs for OSU (32-8 overall).

On Tuesday, a sellout crowd of 1,002 - including a large contingent of OSU fans – saw the Beavers and Pilots (17-22) lock up in a 2-1 pitchers’ duel through six innings.

USC Extends Lead in Pac-10 Men's Golf Tournament

The Sun Devils (4-under), No. 2 Stanford (1-over) and Washington (3-over) round out the top five.

(EUGENE) - Marcus Sostak photoThe USC Trojans used a third-round 15-under 345 Tuesday to take a commanding lead at the 2007 Pac-10 men’s golf championships.

USC nearly equaled its second round 18-under 342 to build a 23-shot advantage over second-place UCLA after 54 holes.

The Trojans are at 35-under 1,045 for the tournament, being played at the par-72, 7,033-yard Eugene Country Club.

Ninth Inning Homer Lifts Corban over Willamette

WU wins season series with Warriors, three games to one.

(SALEM) - Brett Timmerman photoBrett Timmerman of Corban College hit a three-run homer, his first of the season, with two outs in the top of the ninth inning to lead the Warriors to an 8-7 victory over Willamette University on Tuesday at John Lewis Field.

Willamette led 7-5 prior to Timmerman's homer, which cleared the right field fence to give Corban the lead.

The Bearcats fell to 17-20 with the loss, while Corban improved to 12-28-1.

MLB: White Sox Buehrle Named AL Player of the Week

In his three starts this season, Buehrle is 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA.

(NEW YORK) - white sox logoChicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle has been named winner of the Bank of America Presents the American League Player of the Week for the period ending April 22nd.

Buehrle pitched the 16th no-hitter in franchise history on Wednesday night in Chicago, facing the minimum 27 batters during a 6-0 victory over the Texas Rangers.

The left-hander, striking out eight, allowed a walk to Sammy Sosa in the fifth inning but subsequently picked him off at first base.

The series turns to Utah for Thursday's Game 3.

(HOUSTON) - houston rockets logoThe Rockets needed every bit of Tracy McGrady's clutch performance to ward off Carlos Boozer and the Jazz on Monday.

McGrady scored 20 of his 31 points in the second half as Houston took control for a 98-90 win over Utah and a 2-0 series lead.

Boozer did all he could to carry his team on his back, but he couldn't get them over the hump.

The series swings to Orlando for Game 3 on Thursday.

(AUBURN HILLS, Mich.) - Detroit Pistons logoJust when it seemed the Magic were mounting a late rally to get back into their Game 2 matchup with the Pistons, Chauncey Billups showed why he has earned the moniker "Mr. Big Shot."

Billups converted a three-point play with 59.8 seconds left in the fourth quarter to push Detroit's lead back to nine points and seal a 98-90 victory Monday that gave his team a 2-0 advantage in their first-round series.

Billups finished with 21 points, and Richard Hamilton scored 12 of his 22 in the final frame.

USC Rolls to Pac-10 Tourney Lead

Jamie Lovemark’s second round 6-under 66 gave the Trojan freshman the individual lead after the first day at 9-under overall.

(EUGENE) - Eric Hastings photoWhile the scoring went up overall in Monday’s second round, USC soared to an 18-under 342 to take an eight stroke leads at the midway point of the 2007 Pacific-10 men’s golf championships.

The Trojans were at 20-under 700 after 36 holes at the par 72, 7,033-yard Eugene Country Club. Host Oregon was in sixth at 732.

It was a tale of two rounds for most of the field, especially for the Ducks and Trojans.
