(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) - Jack Cust tallied his third multi-homer game of the season with a pair of solo shots, and Craig Stansberry had a season-high four hits and five RBIs to help the Portland Beavers snap a five-game road-losing streak with a 13-7 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox Monday night at Security Service Field.
Vincent Sinisi and Brett Dowdy each added three hits, and Paul McAnulty had two hits and three RBIs for the Beavers (8-11), who logged 18 hits total, one shy of their season high. Read Full Article

(SALEM) - Junior right-handed pitcher Tye Sundlee struck out nine batters in a complete-game performance, Matt Rasmussen drove in three runs and Colin Young belted a two-run homer in the third inning, as Willamette University defeated Pacific University on Monday.
The Northwest Conference win at John Lewis Field improved the Bearcats to 17-19 overall, 9-14 in the NWC. Pacific fell to 12-24 overall, including 5-16 in the NWC.
Sundlee, who improved to 5-3 on the season, allowed just five hits and two walks during the game. Read Full Article

(NEWBERG, Ore. ) - Josh Burch threw a five-hit shutout, the second consecutive whitewash job by George Fox University pitchers and third in the last four games, as the Bruins concluded the Northwest Conference portion of their baseball schedule with a 3-0 win over the Lewis & Clark College Pioneers Monday afternoon at Morse Field.
Burch (3-1) out-dueled Pioneer ace Jordon Smiley (2-6), who was almost as stingy. Burch struck out seven, walked one, and allowed only three runners as far as second base. Read Full Article

(SALEM) - Colin Young belted a three-run homer in the fourth inning and Kelly Gilmore smacked a solo homer -- his third of the afternoon -- in the sixth inning, as Willamette University rallied for a 9-7 victory over Pacific University in the second game of a doubleheader on Sunday.
In the opener, Pacific completed its own rally by scoring four runs in the top of the ninth inning for a 12-11 victory.

(MONMOUTH, Ore. ) - Western Oregon jumped out to an early lead in game one and then rallied in the nightcap to take a baseball doubleheader sweep over Central Washington on Sunday at the WOU Baseball Field, 8-3 and 4-3.
The Wolves moved to 12-2 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and to 22-15 overall. Central Washington dropped to 5-9 in league play and to 21-15 on the year.
WOU has now won ten consecutive games, while Central saw a six-game winning streak come to an end in the first game. Read Full Article

(SPOKANE, Wash.) - Whitworth College rallied from a two-run deficit by scoring four times in the bottom of the sixth inning in the opener, then used an eight-run second inning in the second game, to sweep a Northwest Conference doubleheader from Willamette University on Sunday at Marks Field.
The Pirates, ranked #8 in NCAA Division III, upped their record to 29-3, including 24-0 in the NWC. Willamette dropped to 17-16, 11-13 in the NWC.
Willamette outhit Whitworth, 17-9, in the first game, but left eight runners on base and allowed the Pirates three home runs. Read Full Article

(HOUSTON) - After being penalized following qualifying for the Grand Prix of Houston Sebastien Bourdais was set for a showdown with Team Australia's Will Power, but it was his teammate, rookie Graham Rahal who filled his mirrors for most of the day.
In the end, Bourdais earned his 25th career win and Rahal earned his first podium with a runner-up finish.
Bourdais moved into the lead right at the start but had to surrender the position for shortcutting the course.

(TUCSON, Ariz. ) - Oregon couldn’t stop the tandem of Caitlin Lowe and Kristie Fox, suffering a 9-1 loss to the third-ranked Wildcats on Sunday afternoon at Hillenbrand Stadium.
The No. 14 Ducks fall to 38-11 on the year and 3-8 in the Pacific-10 Conference, while the defending national champions improve to 34-9 and 10-2 in the Pac-10.
Lowe was once again was a nemesis for Oregon, going 2-for-3 from the plate with two stolen bases, two runs scored and a walk.
