(DALLAS) - Jason Terry scored 28 points as the Mavericks used an 11-0 run midway through the third quarter to gain control and tie the series at 1-1 on Wednesday with a 112-99 home victory over the eighth-seeded Warriors.
Dallas outscored Golden State 33-22 in the third period.

Tim Duncan led the way with 22 points, seven rebounds and five blocks, while Tony Parker contributed 20 points and six assists.

(CLEVELAND) - Drew Gooden had a strong second quarter, while LeBron James heated up late to lead the Cavaliers to a commanding lead in their first-round series with the Wizards.
Gooden scored 15 of his 24 points in the second as Cleveland grabbed the lead with 2:20 left before halftime and never relinquished it in a 109-102 Game 2 win on Wednesday.
James finished with 27 points, including 13 in the final quarter, dished out seven assists and pulled down eight rebounds.

The 16th-ranked Ducks improve to 39-11 overall and 4-8 in the Pac-10 Conference, while the Beavers drop to 34-16 and 6-6 in conference.

(SALEM) - Junior Jennifer Childers hit a game-winning, walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, as Corban's softball team upset the NAIA's No. 13-ranked Hustlin' Owls of Oregon Tech, 2-7 & 9-8, for the second straight season in identical fashion.
Last season, then-freshman Rachel Steigleman upset then-No. 24-ranked Oregon Tech, 6-4, with a walk-off two-run home run to left field.
In yesterday's game, after scoring five runs (three unearned) to take a 7-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning, Corban allowed Oregon Tech to score six runs in the top of the sixth.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - On the heels of one of the most successful football seasons in the history of the Oregon State University program, head coach Mike Riley has agreed to a contract extension, Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis announced Wednesday.
The newly structured extension will have Riley under contract through 2012 with rollover provisions.
The 53-year-old Riley will make a guaranteed base salary of $850,000 in the first year of the contract, rising incrementally to $1.1 million in the final year.

(LEXINGTON, Va.) - VMI junior forward Reggie Williams, who led Division I in scoring for the 2006-07 season, will declare for the 2007 NBA draft as an early entry.
Williams intends to test the draft waters without hiring an agent as he evaluates his prospects for the upcoming draft.

(NEW YORK) - Toronto Raptors head coach Sam Mitchell has been named the winner of the Red Auerbach Trophy as the NBA Coach of the Year for the 2006-07 season, the NBA announced Tuesday.
In his third season as the Raptors’ head coach, Mitchell totaled 394 points, including 49 first-place votes, from a panel of 128 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada.
