(TURLOCK, Calif.) - Western Oregon finished up three days flush with softball games with a pair of wins over Cal State Dominguez Hills (7-4) and Cal State Bakersfield (2-1) to win the Silver Bracket title at the 2007 Mizuno Tournament of Champions at Pedretti Park in Turlock, Calif.
The Wolves went 3-4 in the tournament against top NCAA Division II competition from California, which included a 9-8 win over No. 3 nationally ranked Humboldt State on Saturday.
They will then hit the road again for Great Northwest Athletic Conference contests at Central Washington (Thursday) and Northwest Nazarene (Saturday).

(TEMPE, Ariz. ) - Oregon State’s ninth-ranked gymnastics team won the floor exercise and sophomore Tasha Smith finished second in the all-around and Jami Lanz tied for third but it wasn’t enough for the Beavers who finished third at the Pac-10 Championships.

(TUCSON, Ariz.) - Oregon State saw Arizona score two runs in four different innings as the second-ranked Beavers fell to the 25th-ranked Wildcats 8-2 in Pac-10 baseball Saturday evening at Kindall Field at Sancet Stadium.
OSU (23-5 overall, 0-2 Pac-10) left 12 runners on base as Arizona (24-6, 2-0) won its 10th straight game.
On Saturday, the Wildcats matched the season-highs for runs and hits allowed (11) by Oregon State as they picked up two runs in the second, fourth, sixth and eighth innings.

(TACOMA, Wash.) - Willamette University scored three runs in its final at bat of the second game to defeat the University of Puget Sound, 5-3, and salvage a split in a Northwest Conference doubleheader on Saturday.
Puget Sound won the first game, 3-1, despite being outhit 5-4 in a defensive battle.
The Bearcats, ranked #6 in the NFCA Top 25 Poll for NCAA Division III, ended the day at 12-7 overall, 6-4 in the NWC. Puget Sound finished the doubleheader with a 16-6 overall record, 5-5 in the NWC.

(ATLANTA ) - The University of Florida men’s basketball team reached its second-consecutive national championship with a 76-66 win over UCLA on Saturday in the national semifinal.
The Gators moved one win away from a second straight national championship behind 19 points from junior forward Corey Brewer, 16 from senior forward Chris Richard and 14 more from senior guard Lee Humphrey.
UF will play Ohio State on Monday in the final, hoping for the same kind of result as their 27-point victory in the championship football game earlier this year.

(STANFORD, Calif.) - Holli Dieu moved up Oregon State’s list of all-time top performers in the women’s 1,500 meters Saturday at the Stanford Invitational track and field meet.
Dieu, a freshman, finished in 4 minutes, 35.90 seconds to climb from ninth to seventh on OSU’s all-time list in the event on the final day of the prestigious meet.
Dieu finished fifth in her heat of the women’s 1,500 “B” sections.

(PORTLAND) - Freshman Meredith Miesbach hit a pinch-hit grand slam with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie and lift Portland State to a 6-2 win over Northern Colorado Saturday afternoon at Erv Lind Stadium, in the rubber-match of this weekend’s three-game series.
Trailing 2-1, the Vikings scored five runs in the sixth inning.
Sophomore second baseman Jackie Heide and sophomore first baseman Jana Rae Slayton started the rally by drawing back-to-back two-out walks.

The Pilots move to 13-13 (1-1 WCC) while the Broncos drop to 14-15 (1-1 WCC).
After junior outfielder Cory Wiltshire drew a walk to lead off the extra inning, Krause – who entered the game as a defensive replacement in center field in the ninth inning – took two balls while attempting to lay down a sacrifice bunt.
