Oregon Women Take Three-Game Streak to The Desert

UO holds a 27-20 series’ edge all-time vs. ASU, but the Sun Devils are 12-3 against the Ducks since 2001.

(EUGENE) - The Ducks (13-9 overall, 5-7 Pac-10) look to continue their recent success as they head to the Desert for games against No. 10 Arizona State (21-3, 12-2 Pac-10) and Arizona (8-17, 2-11 Pac-10) on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.

No road trip in the Pac-10 has been as daunting as the Southwest swing in recent years with Oregon going without a win at either campus since 2000.

Last year, the Wildcats took two of the three meetings with the Ducks and knocked UO out of Pac-10 tournament.

OSU Men's Golf Opens Spring Season in Hawaii

(CORVALLIS) - The Oregon State men’s golf team begins its spring season this week at the 17th annual Hawaii-Hilo Invitational, which runs Wednesday through Friday.

The Beavers are one of 18 teams participating in the event (Golfstat rankings shown): #1 Stanford, #4 Oklahoma State, #5 USC, #13 Georgia Tech, #18 Arizona State, #32 Texas Tech, #36 Texas Christian, #39 Kansas, #41 Washington, #48 Colorado, #79 Oregon, #90 Oregon State, #93 Oklahoma, #130 Santa Clara, #146 Hawaii, #215 Pacific, Hawaii-Hilo and UC Davis.

Bellotti, Univeristy of Oregon Agree to 5-Year Extension

The Ducks finished last year with a 7-6 record.

(EUGENE) - University of Oregon head football coach Mike Bellotti has officially agreed to an extension of his existing contract by virtue of a rollover provision that will continue to provide the stability for the school’s football program, according to the university’s Director of Athletics Bill Moos.

The rollover clause will extend the Oregon coach’s contract through June 30th, 2012.

Oregon's Tamika Nurse Named Women's Basketball Pac-10 Player of The Week

This is the first career Player of the Week award for Nurse and the 32nd all-time for Oregon.

(WALNUT CREEK, Calif.) - Oregon sophomore guard Tamika Nurse has been named the U.S. Bank Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 29th-Feb. 4th, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced Monday.

The Ducks scored their first weekend series sweep in Pac-10 play last week, taking out UCLA and USC in Eugene.

Becca Fischer Named Willamette Women's Athlete of The Month

Fischer is fifth in the NWC in the 200-yard breaststroke.

(SALEM) - Wilamette Bearcats logoFischer took first place in two events and was part of the winning 200-yard medley relay team at the Linfield College-Mills College triangular meet.

She also won two events against Lewis & Clark College.

Against Pacific Lutheran University, she won one event and swam on the victorious 200-yard medley relay team.

Registration Underway For Boys & Girls Club Lacrosse

Players must provide their own equipment, and coaches are needed.

Ducks Edged by Hornets, 4-3

(EUGENE) - For a second consecutive day, the Ducks were unable to capitalize on a dominating doubles performance, as they fell 4-3 to Sacramento State Sunday afternoon at the Student Tennis Center.

The loss marks the second defeat in as many days for the Oregon women, who entered the weekend unbeaten, and drops their overall record to 4-2.

Sacramento State improves to 2-1 on the season.

45 Drivers to Take Part in NASCAR Busch Series Testing in Las Vegas

24 current full-time NASCAR Nextel Cup Series drivers will participate in the two-day test.

(LAS VEGAS) - Indianapolis 500 winner Sam Hornish Jr. will return to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the first time in seven years as he takes part in the Busch Series edition of NASCAR Preseason Thunder Las Vegas which begins on Monday.

He will be joined by 44 other drivers for the test.

Hornish, who finished a then career best third in the 2000 Vegas Indy 300 Indy Racing League event at LVMS, will test on Tuesday.
