Duck 4x800m Relay Set For Historic Millrose Games

The Ducks will make their first appearance in the world-renowned indoor event in more than two decades.

(EUGENE) - The University of Oregon men’s middle distance corps have graciously accepted a special invitation to compete this weekend in the 100th edition of the famed Millrose Games, Fri. at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The men’s 4x800m relay race is scheduled to start at 7:32 PM Eastern Time (4:32 PM Pacific Time) and will also include entries from several of the nation’s top middle distance programs – American, Boston College, Cornell, Georgetown, Seton Hall and Villanova.

A one-hour rebroadcast of a portion of the meet will air on Sat., at 11:00 AM on NBC-TV (Pacific Time),

Oregon State Announces Final 2007 Football Schedule

Oregon State returns 17 starters from its 10-4 team of 2006, the second-best record in the program’s history.

(CORVALLIS) - A pair of Thursday games against 2006 bowl participants open the season for the Oregon State University football program, as Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis announced the three non-conference dates for this fall.

The Beavers will open the season against the University of Utah Utes at Reser Stadium, Thurs., Aug. 30th.

Oregon State will travel to the University of Cincinnati for a Thurs., Sept. 6th ESPN televised game from Nippert Stadium.

NLL News: All-Star Game Fan Voting Now Underway Online

The 2007 All-Star Game will take place on Saturday, March 10th at Rose Garden in Portland, home of the Portland LumberJax.

(PORTLAND) - Portland Lumberjax logoFan balloting for the 2007 NLL All-Star Game is now underway. All ballots will be cast online via the league's official website, NLL.com.

Fan balloting will remain open until February 20th, 2007.

Fans will be able to vote for the starting lineups for both the East and West Division teams.

NASCAR Puts Limit on Past Champ Provisional

Previously, there was no limit on usage of the past champion's provisional over the course of the 36-race season.

(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. ) - NASCAR announced Wednesday an update to the past champion's provisional rule in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series for 2007.

Beginning this season, a past champion's provisional may be used by an eligible driver a maximum of six times over the course of the season.

In addition, a team with a past champion eligible driver may only use this provisional a maximum of six times during a season

Oregon Man Arrested in Super Bowl Ticket Scam

All the identified victims are from out of state.

(OREGON CITY) - picture of moneyThe Clackamas County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man involved in a unique Super Bowl ticket scam.

27-year-old Warwick Steven Janetzki was arrested Jan. 22nd by Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Deputies. Sheriff's Office personnel had learned that Janetzki was allegedly offering fictitious Super Bowl tickets for sale on Craigslist.

Deborah Einhorn in Vernon Hill, Illinois reportedly wired Janetzki $4,500 for the tickets -- but never received them.

Gallardo Seals Duck Victory Over Portland, 4-3

The Ducks return to action on Saturday when they face Sacramento State at 3:00 PM in the Student Tennis Center.

(EUGENE) - The odd position matches would be fall the right way for the Ducks (4-1, 0-0), but they would need a hard-fought victory at an even position to pull out the 4-3 dual meet victory over the Portland Pilots, Wednesday night at the Student Tennis Center.

The two tightest matches of the night would come at the No. 2 and No. 4 positions with the Ducks needing to win one of the two.

Freshman Geoff Embry continued his torrid start to the season, dropping only four games to Charlie Yemm at the No. 5 position, in winning 6-0, 6-4.

Kanaan, Castroneves Fastest During Day One of IndyCar Series Testing at Daytona

The test marks the first time all IndyCar Series competitors will run on the 3.5-liter Honda Indy V-8 engine fueled by 100 percent fuel-grade ethanol.

(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.) - The IndyCar Series kicked off a two-day spring training test session at historic Daytona International Speedway on Wednesday.

The roar of 17 IndyCar Series teams can be heard throughout a 2.73-mile road course at the "The World Center of Racing."

The teams are using the two-day test at DIS to prep for the five road/street course events on the 2007 IndyCar Series schedule.

No. 9 Oregon, No. 5 UCLA Battle For Pac-10 Lead

Oregon is 9-1 in games decided by eight points or less this season.

(LOS ANGELES) - With the school’s best record in 80 years, Oregon (19-2, 7-2 Pac-10) faces UCLA (18-2, 7-2 Pac-10) in a battle for sole possession of first in the Pac-10 on Thursday at 7:30 PM.

ULCA is ranked No. 5 in latest AP and USA Today/ESPN polls, while the Ducks are at No. 9 in both polls.

Everyone knows about "Big Shot Brooks" by now, but five times this season, Oregon has scored the game-winning or game-tying points in the final minute of regulation.
