Ducks Host Gonzaga, Nevada, And Idaho This Weekend

Nevada comes into Eugene for the second time this season, having participated in the Duck Invitational held in November.

(EUGENE) - The Oregon Ducks (1-0, 0-0) host the Gonzaga Bulldogs, Nevada Wolf Pack and Idaho Vandals in three duals matches.

Oregon will take on Gonzaga Friday at 3:00 PM, after Idaho and Nevada play each other at 10:00 AM.

The next day, the Ducks will face Nevada at 10:00 AM followed by Idaho at 6:00 PM.

Oregon Home For Duals Against Boise State, ASU

ASU's Bryan Stith was the runner-up at last year’s NCAA tournament.

(EUGENE) - The Oregon Ducks (6-7 overall, 1-3 Pac-10) return to McArthur Court and conference action as they face the Boise State Broncos on Saturday at 7:00 PM and the Arizona State Sun Devils on Sunday at 2:00 PM.

The Boise State match could be the most even on paper of the year for the Ducks as they feature wrestlers ranked at the same levels in the Pac-10 as the Ducks.

Arizona State has won three of the last four Pac-10 titles and features two-time All-American Bryan Stith at 157 lbs.

Willamette Baseball Team Set to Host Annual Awards Banquet And Silent Auction

Following the awards banquet, the Willamette men’s basketball team will host George Fox University at Cone Field House.

(SALEM) - The Willamette University baseball team will hold its annual Awards Banquet and Silent Auction on Friday, Feb. 9th, at the Cat Cavern in the Putnam University Center on the WU campus.

The event, which costs $20 per person, is open to the public and will begin at 4:00 PM with the start of the silent auction.

The banquet will start at 6:00 PM with a buffet dinner, which will be followed by an awards ceremony for the 2006 season.

Eastern Oregon's Weaver Named CCC Player of The Week

The women Mountaineers are 15-5 overall, and 8-3 in CCC play.

(La GRANDE) - For the second time this season Eastern Oregon University’s Christie Weaver has been named the Cascade Conference Player of the Week.

Teammate Tiffanie Ulmer wore the crown last week.

The senior from La Grande averaged 16 points and 10.5 rebounds during a weekend sweep of conference foe’s Concordia and Corban.

MLB News: Mets Star Delgado Could Miss Start of Regular Season

Delgado, who had surgery on his left arm in October, hit .265 with 38 homers and 114 RBIs in his first season with the Mets.

(SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico) - Mets star Carlos Delgado could miss a few games at the start of the regular season for the birth of his child.

The first baseman said his wife was due to give birth to the couple's first child within a few days of the Mets' April 1st opener at St. Louis.

"My child comes first," he told the newspaper El Nuevo Dia.

Bruins Rally to Stun Wildcats

Khaatim Smith led all scorers with 17 points.

(McMINNVILLE) - Down by 14 points with eight minutes left, the George Fox University Bruins used the three-point field goal and a pair of free throws by Brady Strutz with 2.5 seconds left to stun the Linfield College Wildcats 65-64 in a Northwest Conference men’s basketball game Tuesday night at Ted Wilson Gym.

After early ties at 2-2 and 4-4, Khaatim Smith took over for Linfield, scoring nine points on three shots in the lane and a three-pointer in a 16-5 spurt that put the Wildcats up by 11 at 20-9 with 11:57 remaining in the period.

No. 19 Oregon State Duals ASU, Boise State This Weekend

The Beavers are coming off a pair of non-conference wins last weekend, winning at Wyoming 32-6 and at Northern Colorado 25-12

(CORVALLIS) - Oregon State will get a chance to find out how it stacks up against a pair of conference championship caliber programs this weekend at Gill Coliseum.

The 19th-ranked Beavers will wrestle the two schools who, between them, have won the last seven Pacific-10 championships -- Arizona State and Boise State, with ASU having taken the past two titles.

OSU (11-1 overall, 3-0 Pac-10) takes on Arizona State (5-9, 2-1) Friday at 7:00 PM and Boise State (4-2, 2-1) on Sunday at noon.

NASCAR Testing at Daytona Now Complete

When Busch Series teams return for the Orbitz 300, the premier event of the season, all eyes will mostly likely be on Kevin Harvick Inc.

(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.) - NASCAR Jackson Hewitt Preseason Thunder wrapped up on Tuesday at Daytona International Speedway as the fifth and final day of Busch Series testing in preparation for the Feb. 17th Orbitz 300 NASCAR Busch Series season opener concluded.

2002 Daytona 500 champion Ward Burton, driver of the No. 27B Ford for Brewco Motorsports, was the fastest in the morning session with a speed of 183.782 mph.

In the afternoon session, J.J. Yeley's Chevrolet was fastest, posting a speed of 187.130.

Beavers Hope to Get Back on Track Against No. 20 WSU, Washington

Last year, the Beavers swept the season series with WSU by winning 59-50 at WSU and 71-62 at home.

(CORVALLIS) - Beavers logoThe first half of Pac-10 Conference play comes to an end this weekend with the Oregon State men’s basketball team (9-11 overall, 1-6 Pac-10) heading north to play the Washington schools.

The Beavers will play the next four games on the road, as well as seven of their final 11 regular-season games.

A strong effort for most of the game wasn’t enough as OSU fell to Stanford 67-56 on Saturday at Gill Coliseum.
