The Civil War is big for obvious reasons, but even more so this time around as the two teams have identical 2-6 Pac-10 records and are tied for seventh place in the conference.
Oregon has the better record overall at 10-8, while the Beavers are 7-10.

(MONMOUTH) - Western Oregon pulled off the upset thus far of the 2006-07 season with an 84-77 victory over defending conference champion Western Washington on Saturday night.
The victory snapped a 14-game losing streak for the Wolves, and also clipped a 27-game Great Northwest Athletic Conference skid.
WOU’s last win in conference play prior to Saturday night was on Feb. 12th, 2005, a 61-58 win over Seattle at the Physical Education Building.

With his appointment by Raiders owner Al Davis, Kiffin becomes the 16th head coach in franchise history and the youngest head coach in the NFL.
The 31-year old Kiffin is also the youngest Head Coach in Raider history.

(PITTSBURGH) - The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Monday the hiring of Mike Tomlin as the 16th head coach in team history.
Tomlin, 34, was the Minnesota Vikings' defensive coordinator in 2006 after spending the previous five seasons (2001-05) as defensive backs coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He replaces Bill Cowher, who resigned Jan. 5th after 15 seasons as the Steelers' head coach.

(WALNUT CREEK, Calif.) - Oregon State University’s softball team was picked to finish in fourth place in the Pacific-10 Conference for the 2007 season, as was announced Monday in a poll taken from the Pac-10 softball coaches.
The Beavers received 32 points in the voting, while defending national champion University of Arizona was picked to finish first with 47 points and five first place votes.

The multi-car team will run three NEXTEL Cup Series teams in 2007 with drivers David Stremme, Reed Sorenson and Juan Pablo Montoya, as well as two full-time Busch Series teams with its three Cup pilots and development drivers Bryan Clauson, Kevin Hamlin and Scott Lagasse, Jr.
“I have been waiting with much anticipation to the start of this season for some time now,” said team owner Chip Ganassi.
