Two days after the UO soccer team was snubbed and denied admittance to the 2006 NCAA Women’s College Cup despite placing second in the Pac-10, the Wailuku, Hawaii, native was back in a green and yellow uniform, donning No. 45 for the women’s basketball team.

(EUGENE) - Oregon’s record-setting women’s soccer team added another chapter on Thursday as Tara Erickson was named Pacific-10 Conference coach of the year and senior forward Nicole Garbin won Pac-10 player of the year honors, announced by commissioner Tom Hansen.
After the Ducks were slated for a last-place finish in the preseason coaches poll, Erickson, 33, led Oregon to a 12-6-2 overall mark and a 6-1-2 record in Pac-10 play, in addition to setting myriad school records.

(TEMPE, Ariz.) - Katie Swoboda etched her name in Oregon’s volleyball record book, but the 24th-ranked Ducks came up short against Arizona State, falling 3-1 on Friday night in the Desert.
A sophomore libero from Portland, Ore., Swoboda set the Oregon single-season digs mark and recorded the 900th of her brief UO career, moving into 10th place on the school’s all-time list.

(LARAMINE, Wyo.) - Ronnie Lee placed second in the 157 lbs. draw and Justin Pearch placed fourth in the 141 lbs. bracket during the Cowboy Open, held Saturday at the fieldhouse on the University of Wyoming campus.
Lee, the redshirt sophomore out of Medford, Ore., lost a close decision in the title match against the unattached Brandon Browne, a starter at Nebraska, 6-4.

(ROSEVILLE, Calif.) - Corban's women's basketball team stepped up its defensive pressure en route to securing a 68-51 victory over William Jessup in the consolation game of the William Jessup Basketball Tournament on Saturday.
In a battle of the Warriors, Corban and William Jessup ended the first half knotted at 33-all before the Warriors from Salem came out ready to play.
In the opening minutes of the second half, Corban used a 16-4 run that propelled them to a 12-point lead (49-37).

(PUYALLUP, Wash.) - Willamette University and Pacific Lutheran University each achieved 18 first downs and PLU held less than a one-minute advantage in time of possession, but WU committed eight turnovers, leading to 17 points, as the Lutes defeated the Bearcats, 38-7, in a Northwest Conference game on Saturday.
Pacific Lutheran ended the season at 4-5 overall, 4-2 in the NWC. Willamette concluded the year with a 2-7 record, including 2-4 in the NWC.

(CHINO, Calif.) - The Willamette men’s and women’s cross country teams both won championships at the NCAA West Regional on Saturday, at Prado Park in Chino, Calif.
As a result, the Willamette teams earned automatic berths into the NCAA Division III National Championships next weekend.
Willamette runner Sarah Zerzan won the women’s individual title at the Regional meet, as she completed the 6-kilometer course in 21:45.68 to win by 37.30 seconds over Tamma Carleton of Lewis & Clark College in second place.

(TACOMA, Wash.) - Willamette University played a solid game against #1-ranked Trinity University in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament at the University of Puget Sound, as the Bearcats fought to a 1-1 tie through two overtimes. Even so, Trinity advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament by winning a shootout, 3-1.
The game was officially recorded as a tie, but the Tigers, now 16-0-2, will play on Sunday, against Hardin-Simmons University, which advanced on a shootout, 6-5, after tying Puget Sound, 2-2 in two overtimes.

(ARCATA, Calif.) - Humboldt State's offense controlled the clock and the Lumberjack defense made life miserable for Western Oregon's offense during a 23-20 season-ending HSU win on Saturday night at the Redwood Bowl.
The victory allowed Humboldt State to finish with a 9-1 record and with an eight-game winning streak.
The Lumberjacks held Western Oregon to just 257 yards of total offense, far under their average of 425.
