Oregon Hosts Arizona In Final Autzen Appearance Of 2006

You can hear the game in the Salem-area on News-Talk 1430 KYKN AM, and in the Portland-area on NewsRadio 750 KXL.

(EUGENE) - The University of Oregon football team (7-3 overall, 4-3 Pacific-10 Conference) comes home for its final home game of the season to host the Arizona Wildcats (5-5, 3-4), who are coming off a win over No. 8 California last week.

The Ducks will be looking to remain perfect at home this season as 19 seniors are expected to make their final Autzen Stadium appearance as they look to rebound from a 35-10 loss at USC last weekend.

Women's Basketball: Ducks Stunned By Vanguard

The Ducks open their regular season on the road against UC Santa Barbara this Friday.

(EUGENE) - Former Oregon City star Jessica Richter had 30 points and propelled the #1 ranked NAIA Vanguard Lions 64-60 upset of the Oregon women in front of a stunned Mac Court crowd Monday night.

The Lions had 15 steals and forced 31 Oregon turnovers in the Ducks final game of the exhibition season

Men's Basketball: Western Oregon Ready For Regular Season to Begin

After three exhibition games, the Wolves will next get nearly two weeks off before action begins again.

(MONMOUTH) - Western Oregon shot 71 percent from the floor in the first half, running out to an 18-point margin at the break on their way to a 91-80 exhibition victory over Concordia on Saturday night at the Physical Education Building.

The Wolves shot 59 percent for the game and out-rebounded the Cavaliers 34-21 in their final exhibition tune-up of the fall.

Warrior Duo Named to NAIA All-Region Team

This is the second year in a row that Marshall and Louvier have been placed on the all-region team.

(SALEM) - Senior forward Scott Marshall and junior midfielder Caleb Louvier continue to pile up the post-season accolades, as the duo was named to the NAIA All-Region team when the list was released by the region office on Sunday.

Marshall, who was named as a member of the all-conference 1st team earlier this month, concluded his final season in a Warrior uniform with a team-high 13 goals and tied for the team lead in points with 30.

Horn Garnishes Second Straight CCC Libero of The Year Award

The 5-foot-6 libero recorded a school-record 646 digs this season, while posting a school-record for digs per game with an average of 6.87.

(SALEM) - Corban Senior Becky Horn was awarded her second straight Cascade Collegiate Conference Libero of the Year award, while senior Hallie Hofferd received honorable mention on the all-conference team when the list was released by the conference office on Sunday.

This is the second straight season that Horn has been named the conference Libero of the Year and fourth straight that a member of the women's volleyball program has brought the honor back to the Capitol city.

Linfield Basketball Player Killed in Car Wreck

Peterson lettered eight times in basketball, volleyball and track at Hockinson High School. She was also a four-year basketball team captain and two-time first team all-Trico League center at Hockinson. She was a forward and center on the Wildcat team.

(McMINNVILLE) - Counselors and staff at Linfield College are meeting with students and faculty after learning that Linfield College student Chelsea Peterson (Fr., Hockinson, Wash.) died early Sunday morning in a single car accident near Newberg.

Peterson was 18.

"She was a young lady with great spirit and determination," said Robyn Stewart, women's basketball coach at Linfield. "She always had a smile on her face and was encouraging and positive to her teammates. She had a bright future as a basketball player."

Porter's 38 Leads Oregon Over Portland State

His point total was a freshman record for the Ducks as they completed the tournament at 3-0.

(EUGENE) - An electric performance by University of Oregon freshman Tajuan Porter sparked his Duck teammates as they overwhelmed Portland State, 116-68, in the final game of the Basketball Travelers Classic.

Porter scored 38 points, hitting 12-14 shots from the field, including an Oregon-record 10-12 from three-point range.

Men's Basketball: Beavers Down Cal Poly, 78-65

Up next for the Beavers is a home game Wednesday night against the Nevada Wolfpack.

(CORVALLIS) - Oregon State pulled away for a 78-65 win against Cal Poly in the Oregon Rain Invitational on Sunday.

The Beavers Marcel Jones scored 21 points and Sasa Cuic added 20.

Dawin Whiten had 22 points and six assists for Cal Poly.

Women's Tennis: Seremeta Wins Duck Classic Singles Title

Simone Templeton had the only relatively tough match of the consolation draw, but pulled out the 3-6, 6-2, 1-0(7) victory over SCU's Lindsay McBride.

(EUGENE) - Sophomore Carmen Seremeta defeated Boise State's Kim Jochimsen, 6-1 5-7, 6-4 to win the the Duck Classic, held Sunday at the Student Tennis Center.

Senior Monica Hoz de Vila lost a close match to another Bronco, Bianca Jochimsen, in the second flight and the doubles team of Hoz de Vila and Ana Cecilia Olivos dropped their finals match to the Bronco's Jana Mackova and Laura Baum. 8-2.
