Oregon State Has 50 CWS Tickets Still Available

The Beavers will face Cal State Fullerton in their opening game of the College World Series on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. PDT.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - osu baseball photoFifty College World Series ticketes for games 1 and 2 go on sale Wednesday morning to the general public.

Fans are required to buy tickets for both games at $18 each and must be ordered in person at Gill Coliseum or by calling 1-800-Go-BEAVS.

The ticket office will open at 8:30 a.m.

Oregon 2007 Soccer Schedule Features Eight NCAA Tournament Teams

Oregon went 12-6-2 in 2006 and finished second in the Pac-10 with a 6-1-2 record.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - oregon ducks soccerThe Oregon women’s soccer team will play eight NCAA Tournament teams among its 20 regular season contests on the 2007 schedule that was released Tuesday.

Among those are Portland, Purdue, Utah and Final Four participant UCLA.

The other four NCAA teams on Oregon’s schedule are California, Stanford, USC and Nevada.

Tigers Justin Verlander Throws No-No

No Tiger had thrown a no-hitter since Jack Morris in 1984, when Verlander was one year old.

Nolan Ryan was that dominant.

The Brewers stepped to the plate with bats, big ones.

They had the National League's two biggest home-run hitters this season and the Majors' second-highest home-run total. Justin Verlander had them just as powerless.

And in the end, just as hitless.

"It was what we call in baseball, 'filthy,'" Placido Polanco simply said after the 4-0 win.

Holdsclaw has averaged 15.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game in the first five games of the 2007 season.

A six-time All-Star, Holdsclaw, who turns 30 on Aug. 9, joined the Sparks in 2005.

She led the team in points and free throws made and consistently ranked in the top three in the league for points, minutes, and field goals.

Dunn, who took over for long-time head coach Tracy Smith in early February, has been hitting the pavement hard looking for players for the upcoming season and continues to add to her list of recruits as she signed Rashelle Davenport (Longview, Wash.) and Naomi Frost (Salem, Ore.) as members of the Warrior roster for 2007.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - kari evans photoThe West Coast Conference announced that University of Portland women's soccer player Kari Evans and Pepperdine University men's tennis player Richard Johnson have been named the fourth-annual WCC Postgraduate Scholarship award winners, as announced by Commissioner Michael Gilleran.

Evans is the second Portland women's soccer player to earn the WCC Postgraduate Scholarship in the four years since the honor was established, following former Pilot Imani Dorsey in 2004.
