(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - The Pac-10 baseball race is well into its second half, and Oregon State goes into its final homestand of the regular season looking to climb in the standings.
The six-game stretch on the home diamond of the ninth-ranked Beavers (35-11 overall, 7-8 Pac-10) begins this weekend against Washington State (23-21, 6-12) with games Friday at 5:00 PM, Saturday at 1:00 PM and Sunday at 1:00 PM at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
Oregon State then hosts ninth-ranked Arizona State the following weekend, then finishes the regular season at 25th-ranked UCLA. Read Full Article

(BERKELEY, Calif.) - Oregon State’s offense came alive and Brianne McGowan dominated in the circle as the No. 15 ranked Beavers rolled past California, 10-0 in five innings, in Thursday’s Pac-10 softball action.
The victory marked the first time in Oregon State history that the Beavers have won three games in the regular season series against the Golden Bears.
The win was also the largest for Oregon State in the history of the series.

(SALT LAKE CITY) - Deron Williams' pull-up jumper with 2.3 seconds left forced overtime and he finished with 17 points and 14 assists in Utah's 127-117 Game 2 victory over the visiting Warriors on Wednesday.
Williams got off to a rough start, picking up two personal fouls in the opening minute, but used a strong fourth quarter (six points, five assists) to again get the better of Golden State point guard Baron Davis (36 points on 13-for-22 shooting, seven assists).

(MONMOUTH, Ore. ) - Western Oregon junior third baseman Trina Dorn has been named to the first team of the Daktronics NCAA Division II west region all-star softball team.
Dorn was the only Western Oregon player selected to the squad.
She hit .324 this spring, with eight doubles, five home runs and 29 RBI. She had a fielding percentage of .959 and made only seven errors the entire season.

(EUGENE) - Oregon freshman shortstop Jenn Salling was announced today as one of the top 10 finalists for the 6th Annual USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Award by the Amateur Softball Association, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States.
For the first time in six years, the top ten finalists actually consist of 11 players after there was a tie for the 10th position.
Salling is the only freshman on the list, and one of four players out of the Pac-10 Conference, including Katie Burkhart and Kaitlin Cochran of Arizona State and Caitlin Lowe of Arizona. Read Full Article

(SALEM) - Willamette University rowing team member Laura Jones has been selected by U.S. Rowing to attend two National Team camps this summer.
She will participate in the month-long National Team Development Camp at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash., and will gain additional experience at the Women’s National Team Freshman Camp at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisc.
Jones competed on Willamette’s varsity four and varsity eight crews this season.
