LOUIS) - The top-seeded University of Florida men’s basketball earned a 65-57 win over Butler on Friday, advancing to the regional final round of the 2007 NCAA Tournament.
Junior center Al Horford had 16 points, seven rebounds and a key block in the final minute to help the Gators hold off the Bulldogs.
He converted a three-point play with 2:34 remaining, then blocked a shot with 16.3 seconds remaining.

(TUCSON, Ariz.) - University of Oregon freshman Ashton Eaton won his collegiate multi-event debut Friday in second and final day action in the Jim Click Shootout decathlon.
Eaton totaled 6,977 points to meet the NCAA provisional standard of 6,900 points, and edged Nick Adcock of Missouri (second, 6,612) and Frank Shotwell of Michigan (third, 6,353).
The Bend, Ore., native Eaton posted second day marks of 14.92 in the 110m hurdles (w:0.9), 124-5 (37.93m) in the discus, 12-3 1/2 (3.75m) in the pole vault, 110-4 (33.65m) in the javelin and 4:56.62 in the 1,500m.

(WALNUT CREEK, Calif.) - Oregon State University junior guard Ashley Allen earned honorable mention Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic honors, as was announced by Commissioner Tom Hansen on Friday.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
Allen, a 5-10 guard from Fresno, CA, is a Health Promotion and Health Behavior major.

Prossner is an Easton, Md. native and is a rookie in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) this season.

(SAN ANTONIO) - No. 1 Ohio State advanced to take on No. 2 seed Memphis at 3:40 PM CDT Saturday in the 2007 South Regional Finals at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
The Buckeyes downed Tennessee for the second time this season outscoring the Volunteers by 18 points in the second half to claim the 85-84 victory Thursday.
Memphis defeated Texas A&M in the first semifinal of the day, 65-64.
