(McMINNVILLE) - Big changes are coming soon for Mike Killgore (Sr., McMinnville, Ore.), a senior member of the track team his father, Garry, coaches.
In less than three months, Mike will graduate from Linfield College with a degree in Finance. And on Aug. 17th, he will be married to Tommi Costanzo, the girlfriend he met the first week of classes as a freshman.
But until those big days arrive, Mike will continue to enjoy the moments he has left on the track team, coached by his dad.

(LOS ANGELES) - Portland junior pitcher David Gruener yields just two runs on five hits in 8.0 innings, but the 19th-ranked Southern California Trojans edged the Pilots 2-1 in a non-conference baseball game Wednesday night at Dedeaux Field.
Gruener (0-1), who picks up the complete game, struck out five.
All the scoring in the game came in the first inning. Portland (9-7) struck first to take a brief 1-0 lead in the top of the inning.

(NEWBERG) - Drew Johnson singled in the go-ahead runs in the 8th inning, then pitched a 1-2-3 9th for a save as the George Fox University Bruins rallied from six runs down to overcome the Concordia University-Portland Cavaliers 10-7 for their 13th win in a row in a non-conference baseball game Wednesday afternoon at Morse Field.
In a game with no consequences for either team in their respective conference races, both coaches decided to go with several pitchers, the Bruins using eight hurlers and the Cavaliers five.
George Fox entered the game with a 1.80 staff ERA, but the Concordia hitters had apparently not bothered to check the numbers.

(EUGENE) - Third-seeded Oregon will take on 14th-seeded Miami (Ohio) in an NCAA Tournament First Round game on Friday, at 2:00 PM in Spokane, Wash.
The winner of that game will face the winner of the No. 6 Notre Dame - No. 11 Winthrop game on Sunday.
Oregon is making its ninth NCAA Tournament appearance in school history and fourth under current coach Ernie Kent.

(IRVINE, Calif.) - The 29th-ranked UC Irvine Anteaters scored three runs in the sixth inning to secure a 5-0 win over the Portland Pilots in a non-conference baseball game Tuesday night at Anteater Ballpark.
UC Irvine also tallied runs in the first and eighth innings.
The Pilots drop their second straight game after winning five in a row. Portland is now 9-6 on the season, while UC Irvine improves to 16-5-1.

(SALEM) - Tyler Sutherland hit a grand slam homer and drove in five runs in a 5-4 first-game win, and then all the Wolves got into the hitting act in game two as WOU raced to a mercy rule 22-2 victory over Corban in non-conference softball action on Tuesday at Wallace Marine Park in West Salem.
With the wins, WOU improved to 7-9 on the year while Corban fell to 1-7-1.
The Wolves have now won seven of their last nine games after a 0-7 start.

(EUGENE) - The University of Oregon received a bye in the first round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament and will host a second round game at McArthur Court between March 16th-19th, WNIT officials announced late Monday night.
The Ducks (16-13), who placed sixth in the Pac-10 Conference this season, will face either San Diego of the West Coast Conference or UC Santa Barbara out of the Big West.
Those teams play on Thursday, March 15th at USD in the tournament’s opening round.

Pearch, the Oregon City, Ore. native, will open the tournament facing Iowa's Alex Tsirtis, seeded No. 6 and also currently ranked as the No. 6 wrestler in the 141 lbs. weight class.
