(AUBURN HILLS, Mich. ) - Oregon State’s Ty Watterson is seeded fifth at heavyweight and the Beavers’ Jeremy Larson is seeded 11th at 174 pounds for this week’s NCAA Wrestling Championships at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
The tournament begins Thursday and runs through Saturday; 12 wrestlers are seeded at each weight and the top eight wrestlers in each weight class earn All-America honors.
Also representing Oregon State will be 125-pounder Eric Stevenson, 133-pounder Bobby Pfennigs, 149-pounder Derek Kipperberg, 184-pounder Kyle Bressler and 197-pounder Travis Gardner.

The win improved WOU’s record to 6-8 on the season and snapped CWU’s win streak at four.

(NEWBERG) - Switching-hitting catcher Ryan Fobert went 3-for-4 with four RBI and five George Fox University pitchers combined on a five-hitter, leading the Bruins to a 14-1 win over the Whitman College Missionaries for a three-game series sweep and into a first-place tie in the Northwest Conference baseball race Monday afternoon here at Morse Field.
George Fox is now 12-0 overall, extending the best start in team history, and 6-0 in the conference.
Whitman fell to 0-12 overall and 0-6 in the conference.

(EUGENE) - The McKay Royal Scots ended their best season in 14 years on a small down note, but the team still was in good spirits after falling to Grant 78-72 in the fourth place trophy game of the OSAA 6A Boys Basketball Tournament at McArthur Court in Eugene.
The game had no downside for the Scots, who still brought home the sixth place trophy in the eight team tournament.
Grant, which lost the Portland Interscholastic League title on the last day of the regular season, posed problems for McKay -- mostly in the area of team speed.

After winning the Pacific Life Pac-10 Tournament, and beating three-top ten teams during the regular season, the Ducks earned a #3 seed in the Midwest region.
The Ducks will first face the #14 seed Miami (Ohio) in Spokane, Washington.
Game time Friday is set for 1:55 PM, and can be seen live on CBS.
The Redhawks finished the season 18-14 and like the Ducks, won their conference tournament last week.

(SALEM) - Six Willamette University track and field athletes claimed first place finishes at the Willamette Mini Meet (Spur of the Moment) on Saturday at the Charles Bowles Track.
The meet featured competitors from Willamette, Clackamas Community College, Western Oregon University, Portland State University, Lane Community College and Mount Hood Community College.
Kaitlin St. John took first place in the 100-meter dash in 12.84 seconds to edge out Stephanie Dittmar of Clackamas, who clocked in at 12.86 seconds.

(FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.) - University of Oregon redshirt senior Britney Henry and sophomores Rebekah Noble and Galen Rupp added to their already-crowded trophy mantles Saturday with top-four finishes in second-day action Saturday and led UO to a pair of top-25 team finishes in the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by the University of Arkansas.
Noble repeated runner-up honors in the 800 meters (2:04.70) thanks to her familiar kick that took her past three runners in the final 50 meters and two others earlier in the final 200m lap.
Out front, California junior Alysia Johnson led from start to finish to hold off Noble’s charge by 10 meters.
