Humphreys Saves Victory for NWCC in USCAA Tourney Opener

(EUGENE) - The #4 seeded Northwest Christian College men’s basketball let a 15-point halftime lead dissolve to a two-point edge with just 54 second remaining, but senior Point Guard Jordan Humphreys scored seven unanswered points, including five at the free-throw line to seal a 57-55 victory over Johnson & Wales College in the first round of the USCAA National Championship Tournament.

The Beacons dominated the early part of the game and shot a collective 56.5% in the first half to set the precedent.

No. 16 Oregon Thumps Arizona, 69-50

(HONOLULU) - Mia Longfellow’s two-out 3-run seventh inning walk-off home run lifted the No. 14 ranked Oregon State softball team to a 3-2 victory over Pacific in Wednesday’s second game of the Hawaiian Airlines Spring Fling Tournament.

Longfellow sent the game-winning shot lofting over the 200-foot marker in right field.

The home run was the third of the season for the senior shortstop and couldn’t have come at a more opportune time.

Cal Ends Oregon State`s Season

(LOS ANGELES ) - Ryan Anderson scored a career-high 27 points, hitting half of California's 12 3-pointers, and the Golden Bears defeated Oregon State 70-51 Wednesday night in the first round of the Pac-10 Tournament at Staples Center.

The eighth-seeded Golden Bears (15-16) advanced to play No. 1 seed UCLA (26-4) in Thursday's quarterfinals - a rematch of last year's title game, won by the Bruins on their way to a runner-up finish in the national championship game.

Marcel Jones led the Beavers (11-21) with 21 points, their only player in double figures.

No. 8 Oregon State Meets Evansville in Home Opener

Oregon State has won 17 of its last 19 home-openers.

Oregon Hoops Fans Invited to Selection Sunday Celebration

(EUGENE) - The University of Oregon is inviting all basketball fans to join Duck players and coaches for a Selection Sunday celebration this Sunday at McArthur Court.

Admission is free and the first 1,000 fans will receive free soda and popcorn.

The Oregon marketing department will be giving away 2006-07 basketball posters and will conduct promotional contests throughout the afternoon.

Lewis & Clark Rallies to Defeat Corban, 9-8

With the loss Corban drops to 4-9-1 overall on the season.

(WEST LINN, Ore. ) - Despite a 3-for-4 performance by senior Brett Timmerman with a double and a triple, Corban's baseball team fell to NCAA Division III member Lewis & Clark, 9-8, on Tuesday at West Linn HS thanks to a single run by the Pioneers in the ninth inning with the bases loaded.

Lewis & Clark began the game with four runs in the first inning off freshman starter Eric Fry, as the right-hander allowed four runs (all earned) on four hits, including the game's lone home run -- a 2-run shot to right field by the Pioneers' Mike Giardina.

(SAN JOSE) - Pontiac has recognized the Oregon State women’s basketball team’s dramatic comeback victory over the Washington State Cougars on Feb. 24th as the Game-Changing Performance of the Year in the Pac-10 Conference this season.

OSU received a $1,000 check from Pontiac to be used for its general scholarship fund, for being nominated as one of six "performances of the year" and was then awarded another $10,000 for the scholarship fund at Monday night's State Farm Pac-10 Tournament after fans voted it the conference’s “performance of the year.”
