(SALEM) - A quartet of Warriors scored in double figures led by senior Brianne Carras' game-high 16 points and 12 rebounds, as Corban's women's basketball team extended its winning streak to seven games thanks to a 63-46 win over Oregon Tech on Friday.
Senior Jessi Norton helped the Warriors take an early advantage (9-2) when senior Kendall Dionne assisted her on a three-pointer with 17:34 on the first half clock.
The Warriors will return home on Saturday, when they host Southern Oregon University beginning at 5:30 PM in the final regular season game of the season inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.

(DAYTONA BEACH Fla.) - In a three-wide finish reminiscent of the 2003 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway, Jack Sprague's No. 60 Con-way Freight Toyota got a push from Johnny Benson's Toyota to nip Travis Kvapil at the start/finish line on the final lap to capture the Chevy Silverado HD 250.
Sprague and Benson split Kvapil right at the finish line, relegating him to a third-place finish, .034 seconds behind winner Sprague.

Chris Albrecht (1-0) was the winning pitcher last year when the Bruins defeated the Bulldogs 10-3 in the opening game of the regional, and he was on the mound again for the Bruins’ Desert Classic win. Read Full Article

(LAS VEGAS ) - Oregon senior Kristi Leiter drove in four runs and scored once while junior Melissa Rice came within two outs of pitching a perfect game to lead the Ducks’ softball team to a 8-0 win over UC Davis in their opening game of the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic Friday at SLC Park.
Oregon accounted for three runs in the bottom of the first inning, two in the third and three more in the fourth as the game was shortened to four and a half innings due to the eight-run rule.
Salling also drove in three runs and scored one while Suzie Barnes scored twice to extend the Ducks’ winning streak to five games.

(SURPRISE, Ariz.) - Oregon State rallied to tie the game in the seventh and eighth innings, but Gonzaga pushed across the winning run in the top of the ninth as the 15th-ranked Beavers fell to the Bulldogs 6-5 in the first game of the Coca-Cola Classic baseball tournament Friday afternoon at Surprise Stadium.
OSU (7-1 overall) had won nine straight games over two seasons, dating back to its wins over North Carolina for the 2006 College World Series championship last June.
OSU continues action in the tournament when it meets 14th-ranked Arizona State on Saturday at 2:00 PM PST, and the Beavers wrap up their trip against Missouri on Sunday at 8:45 AM PST.

Portland ’s third-string goalie Dwight Maetche was named the LumberJax Player of the Game for his 36 saves off 44 shots on goal and .818-save percentage.
