(EUGENE) - The Oregon Ducks men's tennis team (3-1, 0-0) take on the northwest rival Portland Pilots (2-0, 0-0) in a dual match on Wednesday at 6:30 PM and face Sacramento State (0-0, 0-0) on Saturday at 3:00 PM.
The Pilots come into the Student Tennis Center off of dominating wins over Idaho and Gonzaga, the same two teams that the Ducks also defeated last weekend.
Sacramento State’s men’s squad won a share of last season’s Big Sky regular season championship after finishing the year with a 12-11 overall record and a 5-1 conference mark.

(LAS VEGAS) - Las Vegas Motor Speedway will add bleacher seating in Turn 3 for the March 9th-11th NASCAR Weekend, speedway officials announced late last week.
With most of the seats in the main grandstand already sold, the speedway is offering $99 tickets that will include tickets for each day of the racing weekend.
"Race fans are aware of the many changes we're undergoing here at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and that awareness is apparent in the demand for tickets here in March," said Chris Powell, LVMS general manager. "The new 20-degree banking in the turns is certain to improve the competition.

(LAS VEGAS) - The morning test session of the first day of NASCAR Preseason Thunder Las Vegas at Las Vegas Motor Speedway has concluded and three NASCAR Nextel Cup Series champions participated in a lunchtime press conference to share their thoughts on the new track.
Jimmie Johnson, defending NASCAR Nextel Cup Series champion and a two-time winner of LVMS' UAW Daimler Chrysler 400 turned in the eighth-fastest lap of the morning (29.575 sec./182.587 mph.).
Tony Stewart, NASCAR's 2002 and 2005 Nextel Cup Series champion, was second-quickest in the first practice session (29.429 sec./183.492 mph).

(BORING) - For the past four years, point guard Elijah Monnes has learned Warner Pacific College’s system under head coach Tyler Toney, a WPC grad.
It’s only fitting that on Sunday night, at his home in Boring, Oregon, Monnes signed a letter of intent to attend Warner Pacific next year to play basketball.
With family and Toney along side him, Monnes met with WPC head coach Bart Valentine, who coached Toney in high school and college, and talked about life after high school, including basketball at WPC.

(KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. ) - 2006 Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro was was euthanized on Monday after a long struggle for survival.
Co-owner Roy Jackson called the decision difficult but the right thing to do.
Barbaro was an American thoroughbred racehorse that decisively won the 2006 Kentucky Derby and was a heavy favorite in the Preakness Stakes.

With their season essentially on the line, the Oregon Ducks executed in a must-win situation and picked up their first Pac-10 road win since 2005 with a 70-63 victory over intrastate rival Oregon State on Sunday night at Gill Coliseum.
Freshman guard Micaela Cocks scored a career-high 14 points off the bench, including a late back-breaking three-pointer as Oregon ended a four-game slide and earned a Civil War split after Wednesday’s crushing home loss.

(FORT WORTH, Texas ) - Texas Motor Speedway has concluded a special track renovation process that is expected to help alleviate a dip that has formed between Turns 1 and 2 on the 1.5-mile superspeedway, Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage announced late last week.
The delicate process, known as “Concrete Lifting By Structure Urethane,” will in essence “pump” up the surface below the track and ultimately raise targeted areas in the affected 200-foot stretch over the South Tunnel that is situated in the middle of the two turns.
The depth of the dip varies throughout, but it is at a maximum of two inches at any given point.
