(CORVALLIS) - Oregon State University sophomore offensive guard Jeremy Perry will miss the Brut Sun Bowl with a left knee sprain, Beaver head coach Mike Riley announced Friday.
The 6-2, 313-pound first team All-Pac-10 Conference selection was injured late in the victory over Hawaii Dec. 2nd at Aloha Stadium. Perry started 12 of the 13 regular season games.

(LEWISTON, Idaho) - Post players Ashley Baker and Aundrea Morrison combined for 39 points, leading the Lewis-Clark State College Warriors, ranked 8th in the NAIA’s Division I, to a 67-59 win over the George Fox University Bruins in the final game of the Wells Fargo Invitational women’s basketball tournament Saturday afternoon at the LCSC Activity Center.
George Fox took an early 8-4 lead against the tournament hosts before Lewis-Clark State ran off the next 11 points to take the lead for good.
The Bruins fell behind by as much as 13 points at 32-19 after going scoreless for nearly 10 minutes, but seven late free throws enabled them to stay in the game.

(SALEM) - Willamette University junior wing Michael Smith scored 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including 4 for 4 on three-point shots, to lead the Bearcats to a 66-51 victory over Southern Oregon University on Saturday at Cone Field House.
Kyler McClary and Rob Andrus added 13 points apiece for the Bearcats. Matt Cowell was the top player for SOU, as he led the Raiders with 11 points and tied for the team lead with six rebounds.
WU has opened the season by playing eight consecutive opponents with winning records.

Stroughter was chosen to the website’s second team as a punt returner while Serna earned honorable mention.
Stroughter ranks among the best in the nation with 66 catches for 1,206 yards.

(EUGENE) - Oregon women’s soccer coach Tara Erickson has been named the West Region coach of the year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
Erickson is one of six national coach of the year finalists.
Exceeding predictions for a last-place finish in the preseason coaches poll, Erickson, 33, led Oregon to a 12-6-2 overall mark and a 6-1-2 record in Pac-10 play, in addition to setting myriad school records.

(CORVALLIS) - The Oregon State men’s basketball program has finalized its 2006-07 television schedule and will make at least 15 appearances on local television.
Beginning with the Dec. 17th home game against LSU, the Beavers will have at least seven games shown nationally by FSN.
Other games picked up by the network include Dec. 30th vs. Oregon, Jan. 6th vs. USC, Jan. 27th at Washington, Feb. 15th at Stanford and Feb. 17th at California.

(SALEM) - With six players scoring at least four points each led by senior Jessi Norton's game-high 24 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field, Corban's women's basketball team out-lasted NCAA D-III member Linfield, 70-55, to pick up its second straight win on Thursday.
Senior Tosha Wilson and junior Jessica Steigleman aided Norton with 16 and 11 points respectively, while shooting a combined 11-for-21 from the field.
Wilson also added 5 rebounds, a game-high 5 assists, and a game-high 3 steals in 35 minutes of action.

(CORVALLIS) - Oregon State, the 2006 NCAA baseball national champion, will install a FieldTurf surface on the infield at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field in time for the 2007 season.
The announcement that FieldTurf will be installed at OSU was made jointly by FieldTurf CEO John Gilman and Beavers Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis.
Completion of the project is scheduled for Feb. 1st, and the Beavers will play their first home game on their new FieldTurf surface on March 8th against Evansville.
