THIS WEEK:
Oregon State opens the Pac-10 season at home against two of the top teams in the nation.
USC and UCLA open the conference slate with a trip to the State of Oregon and won’t face Oregon and Oregon State until the season’s final weekend in Los Angeles.
SERIES RECORDS:
Oregon State trails, 7-33, in the all-time series against USC. The Beavers last victory over the Women of Troy cam in a four-game match in Corvallis in 1996. OSU swept USC that season winning in L.A. in another four-gamer.

(JAMAICA, N.Y.) - Oregon State forward Emily Henshaw became the sixth different freshman to score a goal this season for the Beaver women’s soccer team, and it was a big one as it came in the 78th minute and lifted OSU to a 1-0 road victory over St. John’s on Tuesday night at Belson Stadium.
St. John’s (5-1-1) was undefeated coming into the game and was ranked #8 and #9 in the Northeast Region by Soccer Buzz and the NSCAA, respectively.

(CORVALLIS) - The Denver women's golf team coasted to a 16-stroke victory at the Salbasgeon Suites Invitational, hosted by Oregon State at Trysting Tree Golf Club, on Tuesday.
The Pioneers’ Stephanie Sherlock claimed the individual title by two strokes.
The Pioneers began the third round with a 10-stroke lead and shared the best final-round score (292) with second-place UC Davis. Denver finished with a 14-over 878 (291-295-292). The Pioneers were the only team to shoot three sub-300 rounds. Four of their five players finished in the top 15.

The Pioneers’ Stephanie Sherlock leads the tournament by one stroke.
Play continues at the par-72, 6,271-yard course with the third and final round on Tuesday . Tee times begin at 7:30 AM, with the top three teams (Denver, Long Beach State and UC Davis) starting at 8:50 AM on the first tee.

(NORMAN, Ok.) - Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops reacted sharply Monday night when asked about the Pacific-10 Conference's announcement earlier in the day that it had apologized to OU and handed down a one-game suspension to the officiating crew working last Saturday's game at Oregon.
The Sooner coach said that the actions of the officials were, "absolutely inexcusable and unacceptable."

Salem-News.com Sports (September 18, 2006 16:12)Pac-10 Apologizes to Oklahoma, Suspends Crew Salem-News.com SPORTS(WALNUT CREEK, Ca.) - The Pacific-10 Conference has suspended for one game the officiating crew and the instant replay officials that worked Saturday's Oklahoma at Oregon football game and apologized to the University of Oklahoma for the officiating on a key play in the game.
A review by Pacific-10 Conference officials of video of the game revealed that both the instant replay officials and the game officials assigned by the Conference made errors in the final minute and 12 seconds of the game, Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen said Monday.
