Citizens fear that a "police state" has replaced the "protect and serve" model for law enforcement in the United States.

Without police dashboard cameras equipped on Ferguson police cruisers, it comes down to the officer involved versus a dead teenager...plus, an eye witness, and perhaps some cell phone videos.

Injured Hiker Rescued From Mount Saint Helens

The isolated location of where the individual sustained his injury made it difficult for emergency responders to rescue him.

(MOUNT SAINT HELENS, Wash.) - Mount Saint Helens A Coast Guard Air Station Astoria MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew rescued a 40-year-old Kelso, Washington, resident who suffered a leg injury while hiking 4,100 feet up Mount St. Helens, Monday.

The man was successfully hoisted and transported to Long View Hospital where he was met by local emergency medical services for further transport to advanced medical care.

One of America`s Funniest Men, Robin Williams, Dead at 63

Williams received two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globes, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and five Grammy Awards.

(TIBURON, Calif. ) - Robin Williams Actor-comedian Robin Williams was found dead on Monday at his home in Northern California from an apparent suicide, Marin County Sheriff's Office said. He was 63.

The sheriff's coroner's division said it suspects the death was a suicide due to asphyxia, but the cause of death is still under investigation.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore. ) - Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter A Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Astoria, a Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station North Bend, and two good Samaritans, rescued five people from a sinking charter boat 27 miles west of Siletz Bay, Oregon on Saturday.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Truck Fire Salem Firefighters and Salem Police had a rare situation on their hands Saturday afternoon.

A semi truck caught fire on High Street in downtown Salem blocking all lanes of traffic.

(MT. ANGEL, Ore. ) - BREAKING NEWS Several Willamette Valley police agencies have been working throughout the night, trying to resolve a hostage situation in Mt. Angel, Oregon.

Mt. Angel police tell Salem-News.com that officers were called to the home at 775 St. Mary's Avenue in Mt. Angel at 2:34 a.m. Saturday morning, and called Woodburn Police and the Marion County Sheriff's Office for assistance.

A neighbor told Salem-News.com that the base of this particular tree is a popular hangout for neighborhood juveniles during the hot summer months to congregate, and smoke cigarettes.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Tree Fire A over 50 foot evergreen tree on the backside of a SE Salem elementary school was quickly put out by Marion County Fire District No.1 firefighters Wednesday evening.
