for the Sox.
(EVERETT, Wash.) - The Everett AquaSox used Mark Lowe’s rehab start Monday night to stop Salem-Keizer’s eight-game winning streak as the Frogs were victorious 5-1.
Lowe turned in a perfect inning, facing three and retiring three.

The 4th round 2007 draft pick out of Stanford University settled down after allowing the first two batters of the game to reach base.
With the win on Sunday, Salem-Keizer furthers their winning streak to eight games.

(CHICAGO) - Left-handed pitcher Mark Buehrle and the Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms on a four-year, $56-million contract extension through the 2011 season, White Sox General Manager Ken Williams announced Sunday.
Under terms of the agreement, Buehrle will be paid $14 million for each of the next four seasons.
Buehrle, 28, is 103-70 with a 3.77 ERA (646 ER/1,543.2 IP) and 898 strikeouts over eight seasons with the White Sox (2000-present). Read Full Article

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Assistant Corban softball coach Nathan Ohta has been promoted to the head of the Warrior softball program following the resignation of former coach Michelle Hext.
Ohta, a 2002 Corban graduate, takes the helm, stepping in to replace Michelle Hext who resigned July 2 after leading the Warriors this past year.
Ohta joined Hext as her top assistant in the spring, and the two helped re-invigorate the softball program.
