(EUGENE) - Two early home runs for UCLA led the 14th-ranked Bruins to a 5-1 victory over 10th-ranked Oregon on Sunday afternoon at Howe Field.
Oregon, now on a three-game losing streak – its longest of the year, falls to 37-8 on the year and 3-5 in the Pac-10 Conference. UCLA improves to 28-11 and 4-4 in the Pac-10.
For the second straight day UCLA was able to take an early lead in the top of the first.

(PORTLAND) - Matt Palmer turned in seven strong innings for his first win of the season, and the Fresno Grizzlies defeated the Portland Beavers 6-1 Sunday afternoon at PGE Park.
Palmer (1-0), who took a no-decision in Fresno’s season-opening victory over the Beavers on April 5th, limited Portland to just one hit over the first six innings.

With the loss, Portland drops to 14-20 overall (2-7 West Coast Conference) while the Toreros go to 29-13 (7-2 WCC).
San Diego pitching stymied the Pilots for much of the game, with Matt Couch (6-2) picking up the win, allowing five hits and two runs over six innings.

(MORAGA, Calif. ) - Portland State and Saint Mary’s split a Pacific Coast Softball Conference doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Cottrell Field, with the Vikings winning game one 6-0 and the Gaels taking the nightcap 11-1 in six innings.
Saint Mary’s won the series 3-1 after sweeping Saturday’s twinbill.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Willamette University rallied from a 7-1 deficit after five innings to tie the game at 7-7 with six runs in the top of the seventh, then overcame a one-run deficit in the ninth, to defeat Linfield College, 9-8, in a Northwest Conference game on Sunday.
Linfield took an 8-7 lead in the bottom of the eighth, before the Bearcats scored the tying and winning runs in their final at bat.
WU improved to 14-18 on the season, 7-13 in the NWC.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore. ) - Third-ranked Linfield battered George Fox pitchers for three home runs and 25 hits during a rapid doubleheader sweep Sunday at the Linfield diamond.
The Wildcats pushed their current winning streak to 12 games, winning 9-1 and 12-0.

(SISTERS, Ore. ) - Leslie Wheeler extended her lead in the final round of the Northwest Conference Womens’s Golf Championships on Sunday and was the individual medalist by seven strokes at Aspen Lakes Golf Course.
Wheeler fired a second-round 79 to finish a 156 two-day total.

(SALEM) - Sophomore pitcher Nikki Franchi allowed just three hits and struck out 10 batters, leading Willamette University to a 2-0 victory over the University of Puget Sound in the first game of a Northwest Conference doubleheader at the WU Softball Field.
In the second game, UPS plated five runs in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie, as the Loggers claimed a 6-1 win.
Willamette ended the doubleheader with a 15-10 overall record, 9-7 in the NWC. Puget Sound moved to 17-13 overall, 6-12 in the NWC. Read Full Article

(PORTLAND) - Jack Cust hit two home runs and Justin Germano gave up one unearned run in seven innings of work as the Portland Beavers defeated the Fresno Grizzlies 6-1 Saturday afternoon at PGE Park.
Vince Sinisi had three this, including his first Triple-A home run, and Craig Stansberry was 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI for the Beavers, who won two straight for the first time this season.
It was the second strong outing for Germano, who gave up three hits and struck out three.
