Corban Women Advance to CCC Tournament Semifinals

With its ninth straight victory, Corban pushes it overall record to 25-6.

(SALEM) - Junior Jessica Steigleman and senior Tosha Wilson combined to score 31 points, as Corban's women's basketball team advanced to the Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament semifinals thanks to an 80-50 win over the Cavaliers of Concordia on Tuesday.

Corban began the onslaught early as they jumped all-over the Cavaliers of Concordia University.

Steigleman recorded a game-high 16 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the field, while Wilson closely trailed with 15 points on 6-for-7 shooting from the field.

Ducks Primed for Pac-10 Tournament

The top-three wrestlers in each weight class -- plus nine wild cards -- will advance to the NCAA Tournament in Detroit, Mich.

(EUGENE) - The Oregon Ducks (7-12, 2-8 Pac-10) head to the Pac-10 Tournament looking to make their cases for placement into the NCAA tournament.

It will be the final opportunity for Oregon’s seniors to define their collegiate careers against the elite Pac-10 field.

Beavers Have One Last Chance to Make NCAA`s

(CORVALLIS) - This weekend is one final chance for the Oregon State swim team to qualify more swimmers for the NCAA Championships on March 8th-10th in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Saori Haruguchi and Kayla Rawlings have already qualified for the NCAA Championships, but more swimmers could qualify after this weekend.

Six Teams to Square Off in Yamhill County Spring Classic

George Fox is the reigning NWC champion.

(NEWBERG) - Six of the Pacific Northwest’s finest small-college baseball teams will meet this week at Linfield College’s Roy Helser Field in McMinnville and George Fox University’s Morse Field in Newberg as the Yamhill County Spring Classic takes place Thursday-Sunday.

The two host teams will be joined by fellow Northwest Conference and NCAA Division III member Pacific Lutheran University, Corban College and Concordia University-Portland of the Cascade Collegiate Conference and the NAIA, and the University of British Columbia from the Canada Interuniversity Sport league and the NAIA.

Oregon Needs Wins Over No. 9 WSU, Huskies to Secure NCAA Tournament Bid

Just three games separate the six teams between third and seventh places in the Pac-10.

(EUGENE) - No. 23 Oregon returns home for the final three games of the regular season. That stretch begins Thursday, at 8:00 PM against No. 9 Washington State.

That game was moved to an 8:00 PM tip to accommodate a Fox Sports Net national telecast.

The weekend continues with Washington on Saturday, at 7:30 PM.

Oregon State Looks to Upset Washington, No. 9 WSU

Both the Washington and Washington State games will be televised by FSN Northwest.

(CORVALLIS) - The Oregon State men’s basketball team (10-18, 2-13 Pac-10) plays its final two home games of the 2006-07 season against the Washington schools this weekend.

The first 1,000 fans at Thursday’s Washington game will receive a free rally towel.

Seniors Kyle Jeffers and Michael Johnson will be honored before Saturday’s game against #9 Washington State.

Back on Jan. 27th, the Beavers got off to a good start in their game at Washington, but the end result was a 91-74 loss.

Oregon State up to No. 9 in College Baseball Rankings

Sunday’s 9-2 victory over Missouri was Pat Casey’s 400th in his 12-plus seasons as head coach at OSU.

(CORVALLIS ) - Oregon State rose in the three national baseball rankings that were released on Monday.

OSU -- which won two of three games to capture the Coca-Cola Classic tournament over the weekend -- is now ranked ninth by both Baseball America magazine and Collegiate Baseball newspaper, and seventh by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Assocation.

OSU is ranked 15th in the USA Today/ESPN preseason coaches poll; the next coaches poll will be released in late February.

Zags Rout Pilots in Spokane

A packed house of 6,000 fans saw off GU seniors Sean Mallon and Raivio in their final home game.

(SPOKANE, Wash. ) - Gonzaga bounced back from two straight losses with a convincing 87-67 West Coast Conference win over the University of Portland Monday night at McCarthey Athletic Center.

Freshman guard Parker Emerson scored a career-high 23 points off the bench for Portland (8-20, 4-8 WCC), while senior guard Derek Raivio led four Bulldogs (19-10, 9-3) in double figures with 20 points.

Gonzaga, which had its nation’s longest 50-game home winning streak snapped last week by Santa Clara, had lost two straight entering the matchup after falling to No. 8 Memphis at the Spokane Arena on Saturday.

WHL: Big First Period Lifts Lethbridge Over Portland, 4-0

Monday was the second straight shutout loss, and the 6th time the Hawks have been shut out in their last 9 games overall.

(PORTLAND) - Zach Boychuk had a goal and 2 assists, ex-Winter Hawk Kyle Bailey scored 2 goals, and Lethbridge goalie Michael Maniago (Mann-ee-AY-go) made 20 saves as the Lethbridge Hurricanes defeated the Portland Winter Hawks 4-0 in a special Monday afternoon President’s Day matinee in Memorial Coliseum.

Lethbridge scored all 4 goals in the first period, but Portland never quit, even though the team is obviously frustrated and gripping sticks tightly on scoring chances trying to give their fans a goal to cheer.
