(Daytona Beach, Florida) - Team Australia’s Marcos Ambrose will begin his 2007 NASCAR program when the Australian embarks on the first open Busch Series test for the season at Daytona International Speedway this Friday.
Ambrose will put his new ride, the Aussie Vineyards-backed #59 Kingsford Charcoal Ford Fusion, through its paces around the 2.5-mile superspeedway over three days of testing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with other Busch Series teams.
Daytona is currently hosting pre-season testing for all three of NASCAR’s championship divisions.

(EUGENE) - The Oregon Ducks (10-6, 2-4 Pac-10) make their second Pac-10 road trip of the season and go in search of their first conference win away from home in 2006-07.
UO faces Pac-10 leader No. 9 Stanford (14-3 overall, 7-0 Pac-10) on Thursday at 7:00 PM followed by a tilt with No. 21 California (13-4 overall, 4-3 Pac-10) on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
The Ducks and Bears split last year’s two-game set with each team winning on its home floor.

(CORVALLIS) - Oregon State University senior football student-athlete Sabby Piscitelli has been invited to play in this Saturday’s 82nd annual East-West Shrine Game at Reliant Stadium in Houston.
The 6-3, 225-pound Pac-10 First Team All-Conference player started 37 of 50 games he appeared in.
He finished his career with 15 interceptions, tied for second all-time at OSU.

(MONMOUTH) - The Western Oregon men’s basketball team played the two teams predicted to fight it out for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference title, falling on the road to Seattle Pacific (86-74) and Central Washington (70-65) on Thursday and Saturday respectively.
The Wolves led at the half against SPU and were within two points with 16 seconds left in Ellensburg before succumbing to both squads.
The Wolves will finally get to play a conference game at home, hosting the Alaska schools on Thursday and Saturday.
WOU had to open the GNAC season with its first four games on the road, the only team in the conference to draw such bad luck.
Coach Craig Stanger and team will look forward to playing in the friendly confines of the Physical Education Building, where they are 3-0 this season -- 4-0 counting an exhibition win over Concordia.

(SALEM) - Senior Jessi Norton became the first player this season to eclipse the 1,000-point plateau for her career when the 5-foot-8 guard notched her 1,000th point at home versus Willamette.
Twenty-five days later, fellow senior Tosha Wilson joined Norton on the exclusive list as the 10th player in school history when she scored her 1,000th career point in Corban’s victory over conference rival Concordia.

Watterson, ranked 12th in this week’s National Wrestling Coaches Association poll, edge CSUF’s 14th-ranked Wade Sauer 3-2 as OSU (9-1 overall, 3-0 Pac-10) stretched its home winning streak to nine meets over two seasons.
