(MONMOUTH) - Western Oregon opens Great Northwest Athletic Conference play on the road against Western Washington (Thursday) and Saint Martin’s (Saturday).
Last week Western Oregon won two games at the Red Lion Inn Wolfpack Classic, defeating North Dakota (74-72) and Shepherd of West Virginia (84-81).
The Wolves shared the classic title with Central Washington, who also defeating those same two teams

The Hall of Famers also participated in the 36th Annual Fort McDowell Fiesta Bowl Parade presented by Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation on Saturday. The Hall of Fame salute marks the second year of a new tradition to promote the best-ever from the college gridiron on the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl’s national stage, building on a long-standing relationship between the organizations.

The Ducks paid a visit to the children’s ward at Sacred Heart Hospital, distributing t-shirts and posing for pictures with some of their young fans.
They also attended a fundraiser at a local Pizza parlor to raise money for medical expenses for the family of Madilyn Colley, a six-year-old patient at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital who has acute myeloid leukemia. Read Full Article

Thursday versus Portland (7:00 PM, McArthur Court), the Ducks try for a perfect non-conference record.
Then it’s the Pac-10 opener on Saturday at Oregon State (1:00 PM, Gill Coliseum.)

Salem-News.com Sports (December 26, 2006 13:38)Wolves Finish Non-Conference Slate, Rest, Await GNAC Play Salem-News.com SPORTSWestern Oregon is 1-10 on the year. (MONMOUTH) - Western Oregon dropped a pair of games at the GNAC-CCAA Challenge last week in Chico, Calif.
The pre-set, four-team format featured WOU and Saint Martin’s of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference against Cal State Stanislaus and Chico State of the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
The Wolves fell to the Warriors (82-70) and to the host Wildcats (100-49).
With the 11-game non-conference schedule now behind them, the Wolves will take a two-week break from games before tackling their 18-game GNAC schedule.
Next on the docket is the team’s conference opener on Thursday, Jan. 4th at Seattle University (7:00 PM).
The Wolves will then host Seattle Pacific on Saturday, Jan. 6th (7:00 PM).

(CORVALLIS) - The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers have been added to two future football schedules, Oregon State University Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis announced Thursday.
The Beavers and Gophers are scheduled to play the first game of a two-year series Sept. 13, 2014 in Minneapolis at the yet-to-be-completed TCF Bank Stadium. Minnesota will return to Corvallis Sept. 12, 2015 at Reser Stadium. The programs have met three times, all in Minneapolis, with Minnesota winning the last match-up 42-12 during the 1981 season. The Gophers have won two of the three games.

(ASHLAND) - Western Oregon missed all 16 of its three-point attempts and Southern Oregon's Evion Moore didn't miss much at all as the host Raiders clipped the Wolves 84-69 on Wednesday night in Ashland.
Moore was nine of ten from the field and finished with a game-high 26 points to pace the Raiders. He also nailed eight of 11 free throws and pulled a contest-best 10 boards.
Meanwhile, Western Oregon couldn't throw it in the ocean from beyond the arch, going 0-16.
