(SALEM) - The Sprague Olympians have rattled off two straight wins and sit atop the Central Valley Conference with a 2-0 record.
Now the Olympians take a week off from conference action and head north to face Lakeridge from the Three Rivers Conference. North Salem and McKay face off this week, both teams looking to rebound after big time losses.

The women’s squad is #12 in this week’s NCAA Division III rankings, while the men remain ranked #15 for the second week in a row. (SALEM) - Willamette University cross country runners Ian Batch and Sarah Zerzan earned Northwest Conference men’s and women’s Runner of the Week honors, respectively, after their performances on Saturday at the 32nd Annual Charles Bowles Invitational.
The event, which featured four races with a total of more than 1,000 entries, was hosted by Willamette at Bush’s Pasture Park.
Zerzan set a new school record in winning the Cardinal Women’s 5K Race in 17:11.0. Her efforts helped Willamette’s women take second place in the Cardinal 5K team standings.

(CORVALLIS) - OSU travels to Pullman to get the weekend started. Washington State (12-6, 0-4) lost twice last week in Southern California. The Cougars managed to win one game in each match against then-No. 5 USC and No. 3 UCLA. WSU has started the conference season 0-4, but have played four top-8 teams.
The Cougs’ offense is led by sophomore OH Brittany Johnson (4.10 kills per game) and junior OH Adetokunbo Faleti (4.00 kpg). Freshman S Corina Beyer directs the WSU offense handing out 12.43 assists per game, but the Cougars also resort to a multi-setter system with junior Maureen Perez sharing the setter position

(EUGENE) - Matt Ma fired a 3-under 69 Tuesday to win medalist honors and lead Oregon to a 9-stroke victory at the Northwest Collegiate Classic.
Seven days ago at the Husky Invitational, Oregon finished ninth of nine teams, 41 strokes out of the lead.
"I’ve been hard on the guys and really challenged them, and everything clicked this week," said Martin. "It was very important for us to get a win and get some confidence going and have something to show for that hard work."

(SALEM) - Willamette University women’s soccer player Samantha Post has been named the Northwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Bearcats to a 2-0 record in NWC play last week.
Post is one of the Bearcats’ defensive leaders on a team that has posted eight shutouts on the season and has given up just two goals in ten games. WU has recorded four consecutive shutouts and has not allowed a goal in 447 minutes, 16 seconds.

Start time is 2:00 PM at McArthur Field. It is WOU Family Weekend, with lots of events wrapped around the football game.
Southern shutdown: Western Oregon’s defense pocketed its second shutout of the year as the Wolves rolled to a 38-0 win over Southern Oregon on Sept. 23 in Ashland. WOU is now 4-0 on the season, the best beginning for the program since the 1997 season, when that CFA championship squad also began the year at 4-0 under Blaine Bennett.

It’s only the fifth time ever that an OSU player has earned the weekly honor. (CORVALLIS) - Junior forward Jodie Taylor of the Oregon State women’s soccer team has been named the Pacific-10 Conference’s Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Taylor set a school record with her 14th career game-winning goal, as she scored in the 100th minute of OSU’s 2-1 overtime win over Portland State on Sunday at Lorenz Field. She broke the record originally set by Val Williams from 1994-95.
