Warriors Prepare For ‘Yotes And Geoducks

Corban Men’s Soccer Weekly Digest

(SALEM) - Corban soccer This week, Corban will take its .500 record into back-to-back Cascade Collegiate Conference home matches this week versus Albertson and The Evergreen State College.

The Warriors will match-up with conference member Albertson on Saturday.

On Thursday, Corban will welcome the Geoducks of The Evergreen State College to the Capitol City. Both games will begin at 4:00 PM on Warrior Field.

Willamette Holds George Fox to One Shot on Goal in 2-0 Victory

Bearcats senior goalkeeper Kari Woody recorded one save, as she increased her personal total of complete-game shutouts to six on the season.

(SALEM) - Willamette logoWillamette University limited George Fox University to one shot on goal, as the Bearcats recorded their third consecutive shutout and seventh shutout of the season in a 2-0 victory over the Bruins, in a Northwest Conference game on Wednesday.

The Bearcats, ranked #6 in NCAA Division III, upped their overall record to 8-0-1 with the victory at Sparks Field. Willamette also moved to 5-0-0 atop the NWC standings. George Fox is now 3-4-1 overall, 1-3-1 in the NWC.

No. 7 Linfield Downs Willamette in Women’s Volleyball

The next match for the Bearcats is Saturday at Lewis & Clark College.

(SALEM) - Linfield volleyballLinfield College, ranked #7 in the CSTV/AVCA Poll for NCAA Division III, achieved a .308 team hitting percentage, as the Wildcats swept Willamette University, 30-19, 30-16, 30-22, in a Northwest Conference match on Wednesday at Cone Field House.

Lauren Kreiger recorded 15 kills, 12 digs and four block assists to the lead the Wildcats, who extended their school record start to 12-0 overall, including 5-0 in the NWC. Willamette, which has lost seven consecutive matches, fell to 3-11 overall, 0-5 in the NWC.

Beavers Wrestling Team Inviting Fans to Practice Sessions

Oregon State is in its first season under head coach Jim Zalesky, who guided Iowa to three team titles at the NCAA Championships, won three individual titles as a wrestler, and was named the 1980s Wrestler of the Decade by Amateur Wrestling News.

(CORVALLIS) - OSU wrestlingOregon State’s wrestling team is inviting the public to attend its practice sessions each of the next two Saturdays at the Truax Indoor Center. The practices will begin three hours before the scheduled kickoff for OSU’s home football games on each of those days at nearby Reser Stadium.

This Saturday, the Beavers will workout from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM and then Oregon State’s football team will meet California at 1:00 PM.

Each spring a selection committee reviews the list of nominees submitted from among the Ducks’ former athletes, coaches and administrators, with their eligibility for inclusion commencing 10 years following their departure from the University.

Willamette Set to Host 32nd Annual Charles Bowles Invitational Saturday

Ten ranked men’s teams are entered in the competition, including Willamette, which is ranked #15 in the NCAA Division III poll. On the women’s side, eight nationally ranked teams are entered. The Bearcats women’s team is ranked #13 nationally at the Division III level.

(SALEM) - Track and field artThe Willamette University men’s and women’s cross country programs will be hosting over 1,200 runners this Saturday, at Bush Pasture Park during the 32nd Annual Charles Bowles Invitational.

The meet will begin at 9:30 AM with the men’s 8K Cardinal Race.

Ducks Ready For Showdown in The Desert With Arizona State

(EUGENE) - Oregon Ducks footballGet ready for Game four - The Oregon at Arizona State game happens at 12:30 PM, they play at SunDevil Stadium. The University of Oregon football team (3-0, 1-0 Pacific-10 Conference) hits the road this week to face Arizona State in Tempe.

It marks the second time in as many seasons (and third time in the last four years) that Oregon has played at Sun Devil Stadium, with the Ducks winning 31-17 in week six of the 2005 season.

Oregon already has one conference victory under its belt after defeating Stanford in week one. Oregon is coming off a bye while the Sun Devils fell 49-21 at California last week.
