Bears Sign Tillman to Six-Year Contract Extension

The 6-1, 196-pounder registered five interceptions last season for the second straight year, increasing his career total to 14.

(LAKE FOREST, Ill.) - Bears Charles Tillman The Chicago Bears further solidified their strong defense Tuesday, agreeing to terms with cornerback Charles Tillman on a six-year contract extension through 2013.

Tillman has appeared in 53 games with 49 starts in four seasons since joining the Bears as a second-round pick (35th overall) in the 2003 NFL Draft from Louisiana-Lafayette.

Bucks Re-Sign Mo Williams

Williams became the first Buck to average at least 17.0 points and 6.0 assists in at least 50 games since San Cassell did it in 2001-02.

(MILWAUKEE, WI) - Bucks Mo WilliamsThe Milwaukee Bucks have re-signed free agent guard Mo Williams to a multi-year contract, General Manager Larry Harris announced Tuesday.

Williams, 24, is coming off of his best statistical NBA season.

He averaged career-highs in points (17.3), rebounds (4.8) and assists (6.1) in 68 games during the 2006-07 campaign.

Saints Sign Top Pick Robert Meachem

Meachem, a 6-2, 214-pound wide receiver out of the University of Tennessee, was the Saints’ first selection of the April draft, taken with the 27th overall pick.

Portland Winter Hawks Release Pre-Season Schedule

The Hawks’ 72-game regular season schedule should be released publicly in early August.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - winter hawks logoThe Portland Winter Hawks will play in a total of six pre-season games, five of which will be in two pre-season tournaments at the Everett Events Center in Everett, Washington and at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, Washington.

The Hawks, who also played six pre-season games in 2006-07, all out of town, begin pre-season play on August 31 and the final pre-season game will be September 15.

After Aeden McQueary drew a one-out walk and Justin Pickett was hit by a pitch in the eighth, Robert Blauer greeted Dust Devils reliever Craig Rodriguez with an RBI double before Andrew Parino tied the game with a run-scoring single.

Payne's second two-bagger of the season put the Emeralds (22-12) on top.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - Volcanoes baseball logoGarret Baker homered and drove in three runs as Salem-Keizer clobbered visiting Yakima, 10-1, on Monday.

Baker slugged a two-run homer, his fourth, in the sixth inning and lifted a sacrifice fly in the seventh.

Andrew Davis and Chad Rothford each ripped two-run doubles and Matthew Downs scored three times for the Volcanoes (28-6).

(NEW YORK) - Michael Vick photoNFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has ordered Michael Vick of the Atlanta Falcons not to report to the team’s training camp pending the completion of an NFL review of his recent indictment by a federal grand jury in Richmond, Va., for allegedly participating in an interstate dog-fighting enterprise.

Commissioner Goodell informed Vick that the review would be completed as soon as possible and that Vick’s full cooperation is expected.

Chargers Agree to Terms with Five Draft Picks

Wide receiver Craig Davis (first round) has agreed to a five-year contract, while linebacker Anthony Waters (third round), cornerback Paul Oliver (fourth round, Supplemental Draft), tight end/H-back Legedu Naanee (fifth round) and linebacker Brandon Siler (seventh round) have each agreed to four-year deals.

Safety Eric Weddle (second-round, 37th overall) is the only draft choice who has yet to agree to contract terms.
