Pacific will face Texas Lutheran at 1:00 PM. before playing a rematch with Southwestern at 8:00 PM. Cal State East Bay plays Southwestern at 1:00 PM, followed by Lewis & Clark at 6:00 PM. (FOREST GROVE) - For the second straight season, Pacific handed Cal State East Bay a loss at the Boxer Kickoff Invitational as Jill Peacock's 20 kills led Pacific to a four-game victory, 30-25, 30-18, 28-30, 30-19, at the Boxer Kickoff Volleyball Invitational at the Pacific Athletic Center.
The Boxers (1-2) earned their first win of the season thanks to a .228 attack percentage, hitting .308 in game two and .257 in each of the last two games.
Peacock led three Boxers' in double figure kills. Melissa Dunn connected for a double-double of 11 kills and 16 digs and Sarah Monda finished with 10 kills. Jamie Furutani, meanwhile, was a magnet as she registered a career high 23 digs.

(CORVALLIS) - The season opening road trip for the Oregon State volleyball team (1-6) concluded Saturday night with a 0-3 loss to No. 9 Wisconsin (22-30, 20-30, 28-30). Despite being down two games to none, the Beavers fought valiantly in an effort to force a fourth game but the Badgers were just too much.
“We had high hopes for this trip,” head coach Taras Liskevych said. “We stumbled with inconsistent play at UNLV and exaccerbatted that with not putting away Loyola and South Dakota State when we had match point in each match. But I’m proud of the way the team has continued to fight during this losing streak.”
Oregon State which had used a two-setter system in the first six matches of the season, switched to a one-setter system against the Badgers.

(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) - Linfield’s men’s soccer team shut out Bethel of Minnesota 3-0 Saturday night for its sixth straight victory since last season.
The Wildcats finished 2-0 in the season-opening Bill Boddington Tournament here, as did host Colorado College, which defeated Simpson of Iowa 3-2 in two overtimes on Saturday. Linfield beat Simpson 6-2 on Friday.
Linfield will play Colorado College Monday at 12:30 PM PST in a non-conference game that is not part of the tournament. The Wildcats will return to Oregon Monday night.

(SALEM) - Eliot Vinzant rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns and Western Oregon’s defense shutout Willamette for the second year in a row as the Wolves topped the Bearcats 42-0 on Saturday night at McCulloch Stadium.
Vinzant, a senior from Scappoose, had touchdowns runs of 36 and 55 yards and averaged 8.3 yards a carry. He helped the Wolves carve out 423 yards of total offense, including 266 on the ground.
Vinzant got the Wolves on the board first, but it wasn’t until a scoreless first quarter was over.

Other than an early 1-0 deficit, Puget Sound led all of game two, though George Fox stayed close until late.

The Wildcats are scheduled to compete in the Colorado College Invitational, where they’ll meet Elmhurst and host Colorado College on Friday. Saturday’s slate has Linfield meeting NWC foe Pacific Lutheran along with Concordia-Austin. (SALEM) - Linfield brought home the championship crown of the Willamette Invitational, rolling through the tournament without losing a game in three scheduled matches.
The 15th-ranked Wildcats (3-0) followed up Friday night’s sweep of Evergreen State with whitewashes on Saturday of host Willamette and UC-Santa Cruz.
Led by the dozen kills of Lauren Kreiger and Lisa Brocard, the Wildcats topped the Bearcats 30-15, 30-18, 30-23. The Wildcats hit .320 to the Willamette’s .047, and collected seven blocks to the Bearcats’ four.

(FOREST GROVE) - Linfield and Lewis & Clark opened up their 2006 cross country seasons with team victories Saturday, capturing honors at the Boxer Rebellion meet Saturday at Lincoln Park.
The Linfield men placed their top five runners in the top 11, led by a third place finish from Harrison Wilson, to score a winning total of 36 points. The Lewis & Clark women placed their top five runners within the top eight to score 24 points in the victory.
Tamma Carleton and Amanda Phillips gave the Pioneers a one-two finish in the women's 6,000-meter race en route to the victory. Carleton pulled away in the final mile to win the race in a time of 22:32.27...

(PORTLAND) - Scoring the most goals in a game in two years, the George Fox University Bruins scored three times in each half and coasted to a 6-0 victory over the Warner Pacific College Knights in their women’s soccer season opener Saturday afternoon here at Portland Christian High School.
The last time the Bruins scored as many as six goals in a game was a 6-0 win over Cascade College on Sept. 10th, 2004.
The win was also the Bruins’ fourth in as many games in the series with the Knights and the largest margin in any of them.
