(WASHINGTON, D.C. ) - Senior transfer Brooke Dieringer tried to rally the Ducks, scoring three goals late in the contest, but No. 20 Oregon was unable to complete the comeback as they fell, 11-8, to No. 10 Georgetown Friday afternoon at Multi-Sport Field.
Dieringer, the transfer from North Carolina, led the Ducks in scoring on the afternoon, as she converted all three of the her shot attempts.
The Ducks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the contest, as Jen May tallied an unassisted goal at 4:08 and Oregon immediately followed 18 seconds later with another goal.

(HONOLULU ) - The No. 17-ranked University of Oregon softball team’s 18-game win streak came to an end after a dramatic extra-inning 2-1 loss to St. Mary’s Friday afternoon in the Pepsi Malihini Kipa Aloha Invitational at Wahine Stadium on the University of Hawaii-Manoa campus.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, St. Mary’s catcher Jenna Smith drove a double deep to left center field with two outs that scored runners from second and third base.
Oregon stranded 10 runners, including runners in scoring position with less than two outs in the second, third and fifth innings.

The lefty from Sacramento, Calif. retired the first 16 batters in a row before Josh Warner rapped a base hit up the middle.
He went seven strong innings, allowing two unearned runs on five hits, striking out six without a walk, to improve to 4-0 on the season.

The Wolves, now 2-7 on the year, scored in all five innings in topping the team predicted to win the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

Bly (5-9, 188) spent the past four seasons (2003-06) with the Lions after signing with Detroit March 1st, 2003.

(PORTLAND) - Portland Trail Blazers rookie guard Brandon Roy has been named the NBA’s Western Conference Rookie of the Month for February.
Roy, who won the award for the second consecutive month, averaged 17.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.09 steals in 11 games (11 starts) during February.
The 6-6 guard from the University of Washington shot .453 percent from the field and .764 percent from the free throw line.

(PITTSBURGH ) - Former Steelers defensive lineman Lloyd Voss died on Thursday at the age of 65.
Voss reportedly died of liver and kidney failure.
Voss was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the first round in 1964, the 13th overall pick.
