(CHICO, Calif.) - Western Oregon made its upset plans known early, leading by as many as 17 points in the first half, but No. 6 nationally ranked Humboldt State gathered themselves in the second half and held on for a 89-82 men's basketball win over the Wolves at Acker Gymnasium at Chico State.
The win improved HSU's record to 3-0 on the year, while Western Oregon fell to 0-2.
The Wolves also lost on Friday night to host Chico State (82-54) at the Mack Martin Classic.

(BLOOMINGTON, Ind.) - Senior heavyweight Chris Dearmon and transfer Brysen French both won four matches as the Ducks won three matches out of five at the Hoosier Duals, hosted Saturday by the University of Indiana.
The Ducks picked up their first match victory of the day against the Bucknell Bison 23-19, with a pin by Dearmon over Bucknell’s Geroge Hingson in 2:53.
Sophomore Ronnie Lee also picked up a technical fall against the Bisons’ Shane Riccio at the 174 lbs. position.

(EUGENE) - Undefeated Oregon hopes to have 2005-06 top scorer Malik Hairston available for the first time this season when it closes out the month of November by traveling to Washington, D.C., to face No. 14 Georgetown on Wednesday, at 4:30 PM.
The Oregon Sports Network will broadcast the game live throughout the state of Oregon.

(LOS ANGELES, Calif.) - The University of Oregon Volleyball team finished its grueling stretch of four consecutive matches against top 15 programs, falling 0-3 to No. 4 UCLA Saturday at Pauley Pavilion.
The Bruins (29-3, 15-3) met plenty of resistance throughout the contest before prevailing 30-25, 30-26 and 30-20.
Even with the setback, the Ducks (17-11, 7-11 Pac-10) completed their most successful regular season in 17 years with a tie for sixth place in the nation’s premier volleyball conference.

(ARCATA, Calif.) - Humboldt State made it two wins in as many nights over Western Oregon, topping the Wolves 75-46 on Saturday night in a women's non-conference basketball game at East Gym.
HSU improved to 2-0 on the season, while Western Oregon is now 1-4.
The hosts led by as many as 27 points in the first half, before settling for a 41-18 margin at the break.
HSU hit 55 percent of its shots in the first half, while WOU was a frigid 22 percent from the floor.
Western Oregon made a run to get within 13 points with 4:49 left (59-46), but the Lumberjacks scored the final 15 points of the game to get to the final count of 75-46.
Biava Arganda hit 8 of 12 shots from the field to finish with a game-high 18 points for the Lumberjacks.
Katie Wilder added 13, Claudia Nelson had 11, and Haley Andrews came off the bench to grab 10 rebounds and score six points.
Kori Seymour led WOU with 10 points, while Leada Berkey had nine points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

(LEWISTON, Idaho) - Teran Lee scored 20 points and Steve Thompson came up a rebound short of his first double-double as a Warrior to help the Lewis-Clark State College men’s basketball team defeat Corban College 74-56 in the opening round of the Cannon’s Building Materials Tournament at the LCSC Activity Center on Friday.
In the early contest, Oklahoma City University, ranked No. 2 in the NAIA, defeated Montana State-Northern 65-53.
In Saturday’s action, Montana State-Northern, 4-7 overall, takes on Corban College 1-5, at 6:00 PM, followed by Oklahoma City, 6-0, and LCSC, 3-2, at 8:00 PM.

(EUGENE) - Sophomore Jessica Thompson had 25 points to lead the Boise State Broncos over the Oregon Ducks, 56-47, in the second game of the Oregon Thanksgiving Tournament, held Friday night at McArthur Court.
Eleanor Haring was the only Duck to score in double figures, finishing with 11 points, as the Broncos rode Thompson's hot hand over the Ducks' more balanced attack.
Freshman guard Taylor Lilley was the focus of the Bronco defense, coming off of her stellar performance last weekend, and Boise State was able to limit her to six points on two-of-six shooting.

(CLAREMONT, Calif.) - In men's basketball on Friday, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps defeated Willamette, 60-50, in the first round of the David Wells Classic on the C-M-S campus in Claremont, Calif.
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps are now 3-0. Willamette is now 1-2.
The Bearcats will play Pomona-Pitzer at Pomona-Pitzer (also in Claremont) in the second round of the tournament on Saturday at 7:30 PM.

(LOS ANGELES, Calif.) - Oregon State was beaten by No. 4 UCLA in a three-game match Friday evening at Pauley Pavilion by scores of 12-30, 15-30 and 26-30.
Trailing 17-11 the Beavers used a kill by Knitter and back-to-back blocks by Rathgeber and Abby Windell to spark a comeback.
Shortly after, kills by Rathgeber and Rachel Rourke followed by Rourke third ace of the match closed the gap to 25-26.
