No. 7 Linfield Downs Pacific in Four Games

Pacific will look to return to the win column next Friday when they return home to Forest Grove to host Lewis & Clark.

(McMINNVILLE) - Linfield footballFor the second night in a row, Pacific benefited from a strong hitting performance, but it was not enough to take down No. 7 Linfield as the Wildcats won in four games, 30-23, 30-19, 25-30, 30-18, in Northwest Conference volleyball action at Ted Wilson Gymnasium.

The Boxers (4-10, 1-3 NWC) started slow, hitting even in game one and .070 in game two, but won game three by knocking down 21 kills against only one attack error.

Wolves Win in Four Over Seawolves, 3-1

WOU will next host Northwest Nazarene on Thursday.

(MONMOUTH) - wou_vball_1_92406For the second straight outing, Western Oregon used a balanced attack to roll to a four-game volleyball win, defeating Alaska Anchorage 30-25, 17-30, 30-28 and 30-24 on Saturday night at the Physical Education Building.

With the win, WOU improved to 3-3 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, and they are 5-11 overall. Alaska Anchorage falls to 3-9 on the year and to 0-4 in conference play.

Warriors Drop Rematch With Thunderbirds, 4-1

The Warriors will be next in action on Tuesday, when they go head-to-head in a conference match with the Knights of Warner Pacific.

(PORTLAND) - Corban mens soccerJunior Caleb Louvier extended his points streak to four games on Saturday thanks to a late goal, but Corban's men's soccer team dropped the early-season rematch to the Thunderbirds of Cascade College, 4-1.

After falling behind 4-0, Louvier teamed with fellow junior Andrew Brown for his team-leading 6th goal of the season.

Southern Oregon Rallies to Beat Corban, 3-1

The Warriors travel Tuesday to face NW Christian College in Eugene.

(ASHLAND) - Corban volleyballThe Raider (9-4) volleyball team added another successful weekend to their season after winning their second game of the weekend 3-1 against Corban College (2-11).

Corban College came out strong in game one pushing the Raiders to a 32-30 game with the Warriors coming out on top. Southern Oregon fought back in games two and three winning each game 30-26 and 30-21, respectively.

Western Oregon Blasts Raiders, 38-0, Now 4-0

The Wolves will get the week off, before returning to action on Oct. 7th at home against Humboldt State.

(ASHLAND) - WOU logoThere the team in Oregon nobody is talking about, but after blasting Southern Oregon Saturday, people should be.

Western Oregon running back Eliot Vinzant rambled for 199 yards rushing, but it was the Wolves defense that had as much to do with securing the gold trophy as Western Oregon shutout the Southern Oregon Raiders 38-0 Saturday night at Raider Stadium.

Bearcats Kam And Morrison Fall at ITA Northwest Regional

(WALLA WALLA, Wash.) - Tennis racketsWillamette University’s Tiffany Kam and Alyssa Morrison both lost to seeded opponents in the round of 16 singles at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northwest Regional in women’s tennis on Saturday, Sept. 23rd.

All of Willamette’s entries have now been eliminated from the singles and doubles brackets.

Kam, the #5 seed, was upset by 11th-seeded Emily Smith of Whitman, 7-6, 6-0.

Kam reached a tie-breaker in the opening set, but Smith prevailed. Smith then won the second set without losing a game.

Fahsholz And Moller Lead Warriors to Invitational Sweep

Corban’s cross country teams can next be seen on Saturday, when they compete in the Willamette Invitational at Bush Park in Salem beginning at 10:00 AM.

(SALEM) - Corban mens soccerIn the first-ever Corban/Warner Pacific Invitational, senior Brent Fahsholz and freshman Carli Moller each took home their respective individual titles, as Corban's men's and women's cross country teams brought home the titles for the first-ever sweep on Saturday.

The women kick off the pair of collegiate races at Bush Park in Salem and Moller paced the 5K field in a time of 19:10.42, which was nearly 29 seconds faster than the second place finisher -- Alicia Jeffers of Southern Oregon.

The Bearcats return home for a match Wednesday with Linfield. First serve is set for 7:00 PM.

(TACOMA, Wash.) - VolleyballPacific Lutheran remained unbeaten in Northwest Conference volleyball action with a 30-16, 30-24, 30-20 victory over the Willamette Bearcats on Saturday night in Olson Auditorium.

The Lutes (10-4 overall, 4-0 NWC), winners of five straight matches, came out smoking in the first game, recording 19 kills and just one attack error and hitting .450 as a team.

Bruins Let Win Slip Through Their Fingers

George Fox hosts 7th-ranked Linfield College on Friday.

(SPOKANE, Wash.) - George Fox volleyballDespite holding sizeable leads in each of the first two games, George Fox let Whitworth slip from their grasp and dropped a 3-0 match in Northwest Conference women’s volleyball action Saturday afternoon at the Whitworth Fieldhouse.

The Bruins fell 23-30, 26-30, 26-30 to the Pirates, suffering their seventh straight setback and falling to 3-11 overall and 0-4 in the conference. The Pirates improved to 3-12 overall and 2-2 in the league.
